While many players want to just jump into their mechs and start shooting, there are a few things they need to know first. Armored Core 6 has many elements that can initially seem daunting for gamers. One of those elements is the Targeting System in Armored Core 6. Given how much information you have on your UI while fighting, it is hard to see whether you’re hitting your foes. If you’re having trouble with it, we’ve prepared a guide to explain how the Targeting System elements work in Armored Core 6.

How Does the Targeting System Work in Armored Core 6?

The game does a fantastic job of telling you most things, and while everything is explained through text and well-made tutorials, it can still be overwhelming. To understand the Targeting System in Armored Core 6, you must look at your reticle. While some players might think having the enemy in their sights is all they need to land a hit, there’s much more to it, and we’ll break it down here.

Targeting System Reticle

First, we have the Targeting System reticle. This round area shows where your AC is aiming, among other things. You have markers to show your AC’s cooldowns, which are handy during the game’s frenetic fights. Yet, what matters to us is the small reticle that moves each time you’re aiming; this dictates if your shots will land or not. To land your shots, you need the reticle to turn red. This means your shots will land with ease. However, if you’re struggling to get the red reticle, we’ll tell you how.

Fire Control System and How to Improve It

One thing that’ll let you get that red reticle faster is your FCS or Fire Control System. When assembling your AC, you might’ve noticed an FCS slot. This component dictates the aim assist you’ll get when in certain ranges. Some FCS components provide certain bonuses to close, medium, and long-range, as shown in the above image. Managing these values is crucial if you want to land your shots. Let’s say you prefer fighting from afar; you must focus on equipping an FCS with a higher long-range assist value.

In the above image, you can see all the elements around the Targeting System UI. When you’re dropped in the game, it can be hard to follow all of them; that’s why we’ve put the elements in the image so you can understand how this system works.

And now that you know how the Targeting System works in Armored Core 6, fighting will be much easier. It is important to always stay at an optimal distance to get your red reticle, which will help you land your shots. Also, remember each weapon varies when it comes to aiming. A small machine gun won’t work well from long-range compared to a rifle. So, mix and match your options until you find the right AC build.

Armored Core 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
