Marvel is getting ready for the big screen debut of The Marvels with some special MCU variant covers. Two, to be exact. The new variants honor Carol Danvers and her return to the big screen since her 2019 debut. They feature the cosmic hero herself, as well as her upcoming “co-stars” Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. These two new covers will adorn a one-shot releasing in October and the second issue of the Captain Marvel ongoing series.
Celebrating The Marvels
These two special covers are all in celebration of the upcoming sequel. This film, which flies to audiences on November 10, brings Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers back for some more cosmic adventures. This time around, the hero is teaming up with Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau. Together, the trio takes on a new cosmic threat and deal with some classic Freaky Friday switch-ups.
The new variants show off all three heroes in comic form. One shows the trio flexing their different cosmic abilities. The other has the group ready to take on anything as Goose the Flerken shows off his tentacles. Both variants celebrate the women and how they work together as a team.
Season Of Carol Danvers
With The Marvels hitting screens this fall, it is shaping up to be a big season for Carol Danvers. Alongside the film, Carol is getting a brand-new ongoing series. Plus, she stars in an upcoming mega-sized one-shot, Captain Marvel: Assault on Eden #1. In fact, the variants will adorn an issue of the ongoing series, as well as that one-shot.
In Assault on Eden #1, writer Anthony Oliveira and artist Eleonora Carlini offer readers a great entry into Danver’s world. The one-off finds Carol teaming up with Wiccan and Hulkling to save the Kree home from a mysterious threat. Meanwhile, in the hero’s ongoing series, writer Alyssa Wong and artist Jan Bazaldua give the hero a makeover with a new suit and a new status quo in the universe.
