Endless Legend has released several different interesting, hefty DLC updates in order to keep the player base involved. Developer Amplitude Studios has been hinting at another big DLC pack, and today they spilled the beans on what players can expect of the upcoming Tempest DLC.

A storm is on the way to Endless Legend.

Endless Legend: Tempest will be “focused around control of the seas of Auriga.” It will introduce several new mechanics to the core Endless Legend 4X gameplay, including naval battles, sea-based structures that can be controlled and exploited for resources, dynamic ocean weather systems, and a new major and minor faction. The new major faction is called the Morgawr, and they focus on control of the seas and manipulation of other creatures. The new minor faction, the Fomorians, are the guardians of the new sea fortresses that players will be battling for control over. Amplitude Studios states that naval battles will offer plenty of new twists in order to differentiate it enough from the existing land-battle system.

There is no word yet on when this new DLC will release or how much it will cost, although the other major DLCs for Endless Legend have run between $10 and $15. There is a contest sign-up for closed beta testing open through September 1st here. The closed beta begins September 15th and will run for a few weeks. Spots are limited, so make sure you get signed up soon if you want to give Tempest a go before the wide release.

The Nerd Stash really dug Endless Legend, and you can read our review of it here. Stay tuned for more information about the Tempest DLC as it becomes available. In the meantime, prepare to battle all across the high seas.
