Among the challenging Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, 7-Star Raids are the hardest. They will require you to fight off the Tera Pokemon with other Trainers. Decidueye returns to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in a new Tera Raid battle event. However, rather than the regular Grass and Ghost-type Decidueye introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon, the upcoming 7-Star Tera Raid fight will star the Grass and Fighting Hisuian Decidueye.

The Hisuian Decidueye 7-Star Raid Event begins on October 6 and will last until the end of the weekend, finishing on October 10. Fortunately, Hisuian Decidueye will return to raid battles the following weekend, October 13 to 15. You can find 7-Star Hisuian Decidueye in black crystals located across Paldea.

7-Star is the highest ranking for Tera Raid battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The challenged Pokemon will be Terastallized and gain a new Tera Type different from its default type. Hisuian Decidueye is typically Grass and Fighting but will be only Grass for Tera Raid Battles.

Trainers can face Raid Pokemon solo or invite and join other players’ battles online. If you go solo, you are accompanied by a few NPC trainers. Fighting against a 7-Star Raid Pokemon is nearly impossible by yourself. You must face off against 7-Star Hisuian Decidueye with a group of people. After winning a Raid, you can throw a giant Terastallized Poke Ball to capture it.

Hisuian Decidueye’s Tera form is strictly a Grass-Type, and Grass Pokemon are weak defensively to Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug. However, because the base form of Hisuian Decidueye is still Grass and Fighting, Tera form Decidueye will still have access to most of its fighting moves. It’s best to avoid using Pokemon weak against Fighting.

The best counters for Hisuian Decidueye in 7-Star Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Armarouge, Baxcalibur, Corviknigh, and Iron Moth.

  • Armarouge: A Fire and Psychic-Type with solid defensive stats and access to the best Fire moves to attack. The best moves for Armarouge are Sunny Day, Flamethrower, and Lava Plume.
  • Baxcalibur: A pseudo-legendary with access to the strongest Ice and Dragon attacks in the game. The best moves for Baxcalibur are Dragon Claw, Ice Fang, and Icicle Crash.
  • Corviknight: Bird Pokemon always do well against Grass-Types, and Corviknight has the added benefit of being a Flying and Steel-Type with great defense. The best moves for Corviknight are Iron Defense, Aeriel Ace, and Brave Bird.
  • Iron Moth: A Paradox Fire and Poison Pokemon, Iron Moth is another good option with a strong defense against Decidueye’s Grass attacks. The best moves to teach Iron Moth are Overheat, Flamethrower, and Acid Spray.

Any Fire-Types with good defensive stats should do well against Hisuian Decidueye, but the above Pokemon are the best.
