This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Despite the franchise returning to its social stealth roots, there are still a few modern RPG features that remain in the latest Assassin’s Creed installment. One is the skill tree, which is less cluttered than in other entries and more impactful. To climb the Hidden Ones ranks faster while surviving in Baghdad, you must invest in these abilities. We will break down which skills are worth the investment.

5 Best Early Skills in Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Assassin’s Creed Mirage has a skill tree that, thankfully, isn’t too complicated to understand. It is divided into three sections, which correspond to a different playstyle. These are the three sections you’ll see:

  • Phantom: Focuses on combat and Focus regeneration.
  • Trickster: Includes skills for tools and pickpocketing.
  • Predator: Enhances your stealth abilities and Enkidu’s skills.

In truth, you can’t go wrong with either, yet there are a few skills that’ll make your game’s early hours much easier. So, without further ado, here are the ones we recommend you pick first.

1. Auto-Collect

The Auto-Collect is one of the most useful skills for every assassin. When taking down targets, or any enemy for that matter, there’s a chance they’ll drop some valuable loot. Even those experienced Hidden Ones might be caught when taking down a foe and will have to run fast. If that’s the case, you might not have time to loot the body. That’s why the Auto-Collect skill is so crucial. This is the first skill you’ll find in the Trickster skill tree.

2. Elixir Pocket

Moving down the Trickster skill tree, you’ll find the Elixir Pocket skill, which opens one of the two branches you can pick if you follow the Trickster path. This skill is paramount as it’s the only way to obtain more health potions or elixirs, as the game calls them. Thankfully, this game offers many stealth options, which means you won’t be fighting face-to-face most of the time. However, if you get caught or run into an inevitable fight, carrying more health items never hurts.

3. Extra Tool Capacity

The next skill we recommend getting early in the game is the Extra Tool Capacity skill. While many would’ve loved to unlock tool slots by doing quests or contracts, the game forces you to invest in the Trickster skill tree to get more assassin tools. During your game’s first hours, we recommend getting the first one, at least. After that, you should unlock the smoke bomb tool, as it’ll be one of your best tools to ambush certain guarded targets or use it as a means to escape.

4. Breakfall

Moving on to the Phantom skill tree, we have the Breakfall skill. While you’ll have to invest a point in this tree’s first skill, the Breakfall ability is great, as it reduces your fall damage. Whether you’re a series veteran or newcomer, parkour in Assassin’s Creed can get hectic sometimes. Especially when escaping the city guard. That’s why if there’s no other choice and you must jump off a high spot, take this skill to keep your health up or just lose a little.

5. Emergency Aim

While you won’t be able to unlock this one that early, we still recommend it as one of the best skills to get first in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The skill is down the Predator tree, letting you aim at an enemy about to notice you. This is amazing if you don’t want to blow your cover and stick to the shadows. Given how the late-game contracts have enemies in every nook and cranny, this skill is necessary to infiltrate Baghdad’s most dangerous places.

Before we end this guide, let’s go over the best skills in Assassin’s Creed Mirage that you must get first:

  1. Auto-Collect
    • Loot an enemy automatically after a Stealth Kill or assassination.
  2. Elixir Pocket
    • Increase the maximum number of Elixirs you can carry at the same time by 1.
  3. Extra Tool Capacity 1
    • You can unlock a new slot for a Tool by visiting the Banu Musa at a Hidden Ones’ Bureau. However, once acquired, this skill cannot be reset.
  4. Breakfall
    • Basim automatically performs a roll when landing from a dangerous height, reducing the amount of damage taken.
  5. Emergency Aim
    • Holding L2/LT will snap your aim to an enemy as they detect you, giving you an opportunity to kill them and remain undetected.

And there you have the recommended order to get these skills. However, if you want to take a look at the full skill tree, we recommend watching this video by FP Good Game.
