Fable Arts are one of the most important things to consider when doing weapon assembly in Lies of P. The extra abilities the blade and hilt of a weapon provide can change the tide of a battle if used correctly and built to maximize potential, or they can sit there and be forgotten by the player. There are some very important Fable Arts every player should keep in mind. Some of these are on special weapons that sadly can’t be retooled in weapon assembly, but this list mostly tries to stick to Lies of P Fable Arts that come with customizable weapons.
10. Alter
There are a couple of Fable Arts that can increase damage, either standard or critical, which will always come in handy in a game like Lies of P. Alter stands out as a particularly strong one for both increasing the damage and range of the weapon this Fable Art is used on. It can be found on either the Military Shovel or the Holy Sword of the Ark.
9. Seven Explosions
This Fable Art is unfortunately limited to just the Seven-Coil Spring Sword, but that shouldn’t stop players from keeping this in mind for use. The sheer explosive power this Fable Art provides puts an amazing incentive on what is already one of the stronger weapons in Lies of P. It helps that the Seven-Coil is one of the most easily accessible of all the special weapons in the game since players will already have the Parade Master’s Ergo necessary to acquire the sword by the time it becomes available to purchase.
8. Absolute Counterattack
Absolute Counterattack is another Fable Art that is tragically locked to a special weapon, but it’s good enough to promote using this weapon to any player. Hardcore Soulslike fans may shun the idea of a Fable Art that takes the finesse out of the perfect guard and parry, but for the 99% of players that would love to have a guaranteed counterattack, this ability can absolutely come in a pinch.
7. Thunderstrike
In the time since Lies of P was released, a lot of players have experimented with electric damage builds since they’re potently useful against the many various puppet enemies of the game. The Thunderstrike Fable Art attached to the Coil Mjolnir head is a must-have for any player wanting to run an electric build since it gives the player a powerful attack that ultimately imbues the weapon with electric blitz damage.
6. Flamestrike
The Flamestrike Fable Art is effectively the same as the Thunderstrike, except it’s attached to the Exploding Pickaxe head and it naturally deals and imbues the weapon with fire damage. For players more interested in running a fire build, something that’s more potent against the game’s non-puppet enemy types, this is an essential Fable Art.
5. Payback Swing/Payback Stab
The Payback Swing and Payback Stab Fable Arts may be the perfect abilities for the aforementioned guard-loving Soulslike players. These are abilities that reward players who like to guard with perfect timing and immediately come back on the enemy with a devastating counterattack. Both of these Fable Arts are attached to handles that can be paired with various weapon heads to give these payback Fable Arts a variety of different potentials.
4. Patient Slash
The Patient Slash Fable Art is all about timing. For players who aren’t so interested in that kind of thing when approaching a Soulslike, this may end up being one of the worst Fable Arts. For players who want a powerful attack that requires some build-up, this has a lot of damage potential. It’s also a Fable Art that comes with both the Booster Glaive Handle and Fire Axe Blade, so the player has a lot of options when it comes to assembling a weapon with Patient Slash.
3. Ignite
Similar to the Flamestrike, this is a Fable Art that should absolutely be taken into consideration for players interested in a fire damage build. The increase in fire damage that Ignite enables can absolutely wreck certain bosses and enemies, especially when paired with Legion Arm like the Flamberge. The fact that this Fable Art comes with the Salamander Dagger may be a turnoff for those interested in more range, but the blade can be paired with various longer hilts to accommodate those interested.
2. Furious Spinning Slash
The Military Shovel’s other Fable Art, the Furious Spinning Slash, also lands on this list for granting a uniquely powerful attack. This Fable Art is similar to others like the Furious Slash, but its AOE potential makes it that much more useful. This is an attack that can work well against a boss or a large group of imposing enemies.
1. Furious Golden Hits
Furious Golden Hits is undoubtedly the most broken Fable Art in Lies of P. The ability to attack and defend simultaneously paired with a perpetual swing that can just keep going is unbelievably strong, especially when considering that this is a Fable Art paired with the Golden Lie, the game’s most broken weapon. The only issue is that the player can’t actually obtain the Golden Lie, and by extension, the Furious Golden Hits Fable Art, until the end of the game, which doesn’t exactly come in handy through Lies of P‘s toughest bosses.
