The option to tame enemies and them into your own best fuzzy friends is a cool feature of Galvanic Games’ new survival game Wizard With a Gun; especially, because they’re useful in combat as well as for petting. But you’re not supposed to have more than one… except thanks to a silly bug that I’ve discovered, you totally can. Now I don’t just have one cutesy companion but a whole damn army of furballs by my side, and I’m basically unstoppable.

As it turns out, all you need to do is grab some Charming bullets, make sure you have at least a couple of Revive bullets, and head out into The Shatter to find yourself an unsuspecting enemy to recruit. The process is simple, and super rewarding, assuming Galvanic Games doesn’t patch the bug up right away.

Now, full disclaimer: I love animals, and the ability to have a pet in a game is my happy place. I would, for example, be lying if I said I didn’t stop petting every cat I came across in Hogwarts Legacy. But Wizard With A Gun is compelling even if you’re not a full-on animal lover like myself. That’s because it features a unique “charm” mechanic, whereby you can capture virtually any enemy in the game and have them fight on your side. You can pet them, fight alongside them, and relentlessly be irritated that they don’t follow you and get stuck on every obstacle in their path.

Anyway, the point is that this cool charm mechanic means you have the opportunity for cute petting and a fearsome ally in combat. Again, though, it’s just supposed to be one. The hoard of pets I’ve now recruited has absolutely busted the game. Not that I’m complaining; I’ve quite enjoyed my little Mechana armies thus far.

It might take a while to get to the point where you can get Charming bullets strong enough to take down the big guys. But hey, you’ve got to start somewhere, right? Even as a complete noob wandering through the Imperium, as long as you have access to some Arcana, Arcane Tomes, and a Life Research Station, you can be on your way to that “Beast Tamer” title. Even Level one enemies can be effective, assuming they are surrounded by and fighting with 30 others. I’ve personally had over 30 enemies following behind me at once and let me tell you. It’s catastrophic. Not for you, but for the enemies who think they have a fighting chance against you.

Head out into The Shatter with some Charming and Revive bullets loaded up into your guns. Clobber an enemy with Charming bullets until it begs for you to pet it. Head into a fight and let your new pet die. Sad, I know. But it’s part of the process. Hit that little heart headstone with a Revive bullet. Enjoy your 4-pet enemy army, rather than the single pet you had only moments before. Ta-da! Now, here’s the real kicker. You can repeat this process over, and over, and over again. It’s like the weird Wizard With A Gun version of a Hydra. Whenever one enemy pet dies, 4 more will take its place, or something like that.

While this helpful little bug will probably get patched fairly soon, it’s best to take advantage of it while you can. Fly through the Imperium and the Fell. Make all the Chaos monsters wish they hadn’t tried to take you on. You and your dozens of little pets got this.
