The Silent Hill franchise is incredibly close to the hearts of horror fans from around the world. When Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima were set to bring the series back, fans were thrilled, only to be disappointed when the project was canceled. Since then, the series has been in the limelight for a while, and now, Silent Hill: Ascension has been announced as the next installment. This game is different from all the ones before it, giving players new and old a unique gameplay experience. We wrote out everything that you need to know about Silent Hill: Ascension below in anticipation of its launch.

What Is Silent Hill: Ascension About?

The game is both a streaming show and a video game where your choices influence the outcome of several factors. Each episode is going to be strategically constructed from the choices that players collectively made the week prior. If you don’t want to take part in any of the decision-making, then you’ll be able to sit back week after week and watch how the show plays out according to the decisions of everyone who is playing.

The story follows two families, the Hernandez family and the Johansen family, who are on the brink of damnation. Hernandez’s story takes place in Pennsylvania, while Johansen’s story takes place in a fishing village in Norway. As opposed to playing one single character, you will be making the choices behind every scene and what the characters do in those specific scenes.

Is There A Trailer For Silent Hill: Ascension?

The latest Silent Hill: Ascension trailer was just recently shown off and gives players a glimpse into what to expect. There are many parallels to other popular games with character choices like Until Dawn and others from Supermassive Games. It’s also clear that the original spirit behind what made these games so scary is also going to be present.

When Does Silent Hill: Ascension Release?

You will be able to get your hands on Silent Hill: Ascension on October 31 at 9 pm EST / 6 pm PT. There is no cost to either play the game or watch the series, though you will want to play if you want to be a part of the decisions that happen every week.

Where Can You Play Silent Hill: Ascension?

You can play Silent Hill: Ascension on mobile via the Apple App Store and Google Play. You are also able to play online on the Ascension website, Ascension.com. More than anything, you can just watch things as they happen week after week via your PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Sony’s Bravia television, and select Xperia smartphones on the Sony Pictures Core app.

Are There Any Pre-Order Bonuses For Silent Hill: Ascension?

Because this is not your typical video game, there are no bonuses for pre-ordering the game. When you go to install the game on your device, it is a free title with the expectation of in-game purchases. It is unknown what these in-game purchases are expected to be, but it’s possible that there will be external ways for you to make choices using these purchases.
