This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Like any other farming sim, in Stardew Valley you have to breed animals, grow crops, and much more. However, the game also has many mysterious items that can confuse you. A good example is the Ancient Seed artifact in Stardew Valley. It is very difficult to find and also impossible to plant unless you meet certain conditions. However, if you do everything right, you can grow valuable Ancient Fruits.

First of all, it’s worth noting that Ancient Seed is one of the rarest items in Stardew Valley. Although there are several ways to obtain this artifact, they all have less than a 1% drop chance. Therefore, if you want to get Ancient Seed, you will need to use each of the methods:

  • Artifact Spots – Obviously, an artifact can be found in one of these spots. We recommend that you dig up artifacts in The Mountain or Cindersap Forest for a 0.7% chance of getting an Ancient Seed.
  • Drops from Monsters – With a 0.5% chance you can get an artifact as a drop from certain enemies, namely Ancient Seed, Mutant Fly, Grub, Cave Fly, and Bug.
  • Artifact Trove – You have a 3.7% chance to find an Ancient Seed in Artifact Trove.
  • Fishing Treasure Chest – In this chest, you may get the desired artifact with a 0.8% – 0.9% chance.

How to Use Ancient Seed in Stardew Valley

Ancient Seed itself is not very useful in Stardew Valley since it only costs 5 coins, and no one likes it as a gift. Therefore, you must donate this artifact to the Museum. As a reward for this, players will receive Ancient Seeds that can be planted and a recipe for crafting these Seeds from an artifact.

Once you have stocked Ancient Seeds, you should plant them in the Spring, Summer, or Fall season. After 28 days, you will be able to harvest Ancient Fruits, which can be sold profitably or used for one of the Bundles. But we recommend that you first save more Fruits to use them in the Seed Maker to obtain even more Seeds.
