In various crafting and life simulation games, you often need precious real-life time to complete certain tasks. Maybe you must wait for crops to grow and resources to spawn back. Or you are waiting for those brand-new Crafting Stations to finally be complete and ready to be used. Thankfully, you don’t need to wait long in this game. My Time at Sandrock actually allows you to tweak the game speed to your liking.

My Time at Sandrock allows you to tweak the game time speed through the Options menu. Open the Game Settings option, and you should see the Game Speed slider. The default is 1.0 speed, and you can change between 3.0 as the fastest speed or o.6 to slow down the time of day. Changing the slider will not affect non-time-related gameplay like walking and action speed.

Game Speed SettingsExplanation
0.6 (Slowest)0.5x speed. 30 seconds in the game equals 1 second in real-time.
1 in-game day should take around 40 minutes.
1.0 (Default)1 minute in the game equals 1 second in real time.
1 in-game day should take 20 minutes.
3.0 (Fastest)2x speed. 2 minutes in the game equals 1 second in real-time.
1 in-game day should take around 10 minutes.

In-game time is measured in the 24-hour clock, but you can only spend 20 hours of it. Days start at 70:00 AM and end at 03:00 AM. If you’re still out and about when 3 AM hits, you’ll be instantly transported to your house and skip to 7 AM. There is also a penalty for sleeping after midnight, which only restores some of your Stamina and gives dark circles around your eyes!

Slowing down the game speed in My Time at Sandrock is recommended when you’re still in the early game. As in the beginning, you’ll need to take things slow when collecting resources and setting up essential crafting stations like Furnaces. Once you’re in the latter part of the game, you might need to speed things up instead. Considering you have to complete many tasks quickly, you’d want to spend days as quickly as possible.
