How To Get (& Use) Mucus-Slick Egg in Diablo 4

While exploring the dangerous spaces of Diablo 4, you will quickly litter your entire inventory with materials of varying value, but some items cannot be obtained unintentionally, and the Mucus-Slick Egg is one of them. Despite the high value of this resource, Mucus-Slick Egg’s sole purpose is to be an ingredient for summoning Duriel, King of Maggots. This powerful boss can be a valuable source of Uber Unique items, but first, you must learn how to farm Mucus-Slick Egg. It is not an easy task, as the only source of this egg is the Echo of Varshan boss, but there are many other nuances that you should be aware of.

Diablo 4: Getting Mucus-Slick Egg

As we said, the only way to get the Mucus-Slick Egg in Diablo 4 is to defeat Echo of Varshan, one of the final bosses. At the same time, it is important to clarify that you can challenge Varshan on both World Tier 3 and World Tier 4. But Mucus-Slick Egg drops only on World Tier 4.

As for summoning the Echo of Varshan, the process differs in World Tier 3 and 4. In either option, go to the Writhing Mire of Hawezar and reach the Malignant Burrow near the Tree of Whispers. Next, you need to follow the paths and find the altar. On World Tier 3, you need to place three Malignant Body Parts on the altar, but since we are interested in World Tier 4, you will need the following materials:

• Gurgling Head
• Blackened Femur
• Trembling Hand
• Malignant Heart

Luckily, there are quite a few ways to get these materials. Firstly, you can get them by opening Whisper Caches obtained during Grim Favors. Secondly, you can drop these materials from Grotesque Debtors during Blood Harvest or World Boss battles. And finally, you can visit Alchemist and transmute one Malignant Body Part into another.

It is worth noting that the battle with Echo of Varshan will bring not only material for summoning the next boss. Sometimes, this boss will also drop Malignant Rings, powerful new items that will surely be useful in future battles.

How To Use Mucus-Slick Egg in Diablo 4

Once you defeat Echo of Varshan and get at least 2 Mucus-Slick Eggs, you must defeat the Grigoire boss to collect Shards of Agony. Finally, having collected 2 of both materials, go to the southern part of Kehjistan and visit Gaping Crevasse on World Tier 4. Next, you should find another altar and put 2 Mucus-Slick Eggs and 2 Shards of Agony. By completing these actions, you initiate a battle with Duriel, King of Maggots, a powerful level 100 boss.
