Players can explore not only different parts of the island but also the seabed in Coral Island. Each location has its own set of different resources and living creatures, such as the Sunflower Sea Star. You will need this ocean critter to earn extra Coins and complete one of the offerings in the Catch altar. However, even though the Sunflower Sea Star is an Uncommon type critter, it is quite hard to find in Coral Island.

Unlike beetles, finding and catching ocean critters is more challenging in Coral Island. In addition to finding the right area, you also need to be at the right depth. In the case of Sunflower Sea Star, you have to dive to a depth of 50-60m.

This uncommon ocean critter lives in Unnamed Area 1 and Area 5. However, it would be more correct to say that Sunflower Sea Star spawns there at certain times, namely in Summer and Spring. Just look around these zones until you find a critter that looks like a yellow crab.

Also, it is worth noting that you should be prepared before you go hunting, or should we say fishing. First, you should upgrade your Bug Net to Silver or even Gold level. It will make it much easier to catch the Sunflower Sea Star before it runs away from you.

Alternatively, you can set a trap. For catching critters in Coral Island there is a special Crawler Trap. Players will unlock it after reaching Catching Level 5. Just drop a few of these Traps in the Unnamed Area and check them the next day to get the Sunflower Sea Star in Coral Island.

What Can Sunflower Sea Star Be Used For?

Once you catch a Sunflower Sea Star, you should immediately take it to the Catch altar, as it is required for the Ocean Critters offering. You can also sell it for 95-190 Coins depending on the quality. Unfortunately, the characters in Coral Island don’t like this Starfish, so we don’t recommend you give it to anyone. And the last way to use it is to donate it to the museum.

That’s all you need to know about how to catch the Sunflower Sea Star in Coral Island. While it’s mainly needed to complete the Critters offering, you can also earn some Coins from it. In the meantime, please take a look at our guide on how to get and use Black Trumpet in Coral Island.

Coral Island is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
