Monsters are all the rave in Lethal Company. From Eyeless Dogs to mutated bugs, there’s a risk of death around every corner. Perhaps that means players don’t want more of what can kill them added to the game. However, if online discussions are anything to go by, there are many players who beg for the opposite. Several players pine for new monsters. One hot topic is the potential of a mimic creature. A mimic monster can create a new layer of fear in the already intense Lethal Company.

If they ever implement a mimic in Lethal Company, there are a few possible routes to do so. The main goal is to trick the players. So, a mimic monster needs to practice various forms of mimicry.

Mimics Can Become Another Player

The most obvious usage of a mimic monster in Lethal Company is to have them become a fellow player. If the game wants to make the mimic a rare monster like Ghost Girl, it can only show up if a crewmate dies. It helps if it can become the dead player whether it killed them or not. A great way to make it even scarier is if the mimic moves faster than the average crewmate once it is exposed for what it is.

Some fans on Reddit mentioned the usage of voice chat with the game playing a recording of anything the dead player may have said during the round. If the developer can include it, it would make it easier for mimics to lure players even if only for a moment. The mimic can even carry items to further blend in, if possible.

Mimics Can Copy Scrap

The key part of Lethal Company is collecting the right items, and a mimic can make that an even more dangerous task. They can instead pretend to be specific items around the map, sitting still until you try to pick it up. From there, it can attack.

Imagine running around with a stop sign only for it to morph into a terrifying, blood-thirsty creature who pounces on you. It’s a great way to make crewmates even more cautious.

Mimics Can Work with Other Monsters

If you want to make the monsters in Lethal Company even scarier, consider having them work together with a mimic. You already have the Bracken that drags crewmates it kills. They can even kill without making a sound. That’s the perfect way for a mimic to either find a player to copy or hide a body so the other crewmates don’t catch on right away.

On the notion of working with monsters, a mimic in Lethal Company can also turn into other monsters. It’s something that may only work if the mimic pretends to be a monster ranked either Harmless or Low Danger. Copying anything deadlier seems repetitive and pointless.

Crewmates should battle the mimic like any other monster using the so-called “weapons” they can find. There should be signs that the mimic gives so players may eventually detect it for what it is. Maybe it moves differently or will never face you full-on. It can even try to leave some distance between the two of you when you approach.

Getting too close to the mimic in Lethal Company can cause it to attack right away, fearing its disguise failed. So, a good way to combat the mimic in this way is to simply approach your fellow crewmate every time you see them.

Crewmates waiting back on the ship can help discover the mimic too. The mimic can have a different color icon on the monitor, for instance. Or perhaps their icon glows instead.

In the meantime, you can play Lethal Company on PC via Steam.
