Indie development studio Red Barrels, creators of the acclaimed Outlast franchise, revealed during The Game Awards that The Outlast Trials, their highly anticipated survival horror multiplayer game, is scheduled for release on March 5, 2024. Having achieved phenomenal success with over 1.5 million copies sold worldwide during its Early Access on PC since May 2023, The Outlast Trials is set to introduce a chilling new trial called Toy Factory for its V1 launch. This update also includes MK challenges designed for Toy Factory, complete console and controller support, enhanced character customization, additional outfits, and an increased level cap.

The Outlast Trials will be available digitally in two versions. The Standard Edition is $39.99 USD, and the Deluxe Edition, which includes the game along with the Reagent Starter Pack, will be $49.99 USD. Both editions come with a pre-order bonus โ€“ the Grizzly Hazmat Outfit. The Reagent Starter Pack comprises four exclusive legendary player skins, unique cell items, player icons, and cell posters.

The Outlast Trials offers a fresh perspective on the acclaimed Outlast survival horror series. It will be immersing players in the same chilling universe as its predecessors. In this iteration, players have the option to brave the horrors solo or team up with friends in groups of up to four people. Set against the backdrop of the Cold War era, the game unfolds with players assuming the roles of test subjects abducted by the mysterious Murkoff Corporation. Trapped within a clandestine Murkoff facility, participants are thrust into a gauntlet of physical and mental trials, haunted by iconic characters. Whether facing these challenges alone or collaborating with a team, survival demands not only physical prowess but also the preservation of one’s sanity in the face of relentless torment.
