In anticipation of Christmas 2023, Lethal Company released Update 45, which includes not only some scary masks inspired by SCP 035 but also a new enemy – Nutcracker. With a canonical appearance and a deadly shotgun in hand, this monster is not what it seems at first glance. Inside the hollow body of the Nutcracker toy lies a terrifying one-eyed monster, but it’s to your advantage. Hiding its only eye in the Nutcracker’s head, this enemy has several stages of interaction with the Lethal Company players, allowing you to avoid damage and even kill the Christmas stalker.

As we said, Nutcracker is a monster in the body of a toy that roams the inner corridors of abandoned buildings in Lethal Company. Often, this enemy can spawn on moons with a high level of danger. However, you can meet no more than one Nutcracker in one abandoned location.

While this enemy rhythmically marches through the corridors, it does not notice the players around it. You can walk past it and not worry about your life. But if it goes into the scanning phase, you risk dying quickly. In this phase, Nutcracker lifts its head from under which its eye appears. It scans the area, remembering moving players but not attacking them. But as soon as its head returns to its start place, it will begin to chase you and shoot with its shotgun.

Of course, you shouldn’t underestimate Nutcracker, as 1-2 shots from the shotgun will kill you. On the other hand, you only need to stand behind this enemy while scanning or go around any corner, and it will not notice you. You can also easily avoid the active pursuit phase by hiding around corners. The main advice we can give is to avoid large open rooms since you are much less likely to hide and avoid being shot.

First, it is worth noting that Nutcracker is invulnerable while walking along the corridors. The only chance to kill it is the scanning phase, during which it opens its eye. You only need to deal 4-6 hits with a Shovel or Stop-Sign, and then it will fall dead. But here are some tips to create your strategy to kill Nutcracker in Lethal Company:

  • Lure Nutcracker into an area with many corridors and turns so you have somewhere to hide.
  • Use something like a Zap Gun to stun the enemy and gain a few seconds if possible.
  • Approach Nutcracker from behind during the scan phase, land a few hits, and hide around the corner.
  • If it fires two shots, it needs to reload its weapon. You will have about 2-3 seconds to change your location if necessary.
  • If you are playing alone or with just one friend, you must do several attacks to kill the enemy.
  • If you have a large team, come up from behind together and strike several times to kill the monster.

How To Steal & Use Nutcracker’s Shotgun

After you defeat Nutcracker, you can pick up its shotgun with two charged pellets and two additional pellets next to it. In addition, you can steal its weapon by approaching it from behind while it’s scanning and pressing the E button. You should immediately retreat and run away since in this case, the enemy will go into melee mode. It will immediately turn around, attack you, and kill you in 1-2 quick hits if you don’t have time to retreat.

Whether you want to use shotgun on Nutcracker right away or save it for other enemies, here’s how you can do it:

  • Safety mode on/off – Q button.
  • Fire โ€“ Left Mouse Click.
  • Reload โ€“ E button.

Finally, we only need to add that shotgun, and two additional pellets take up three slots in your inventory. This way, you will become the team’s defender but can not effectively collect scraps. But pellets are also scraps, so you can take them to the ship and sell them like anything else.
