Fans have waited decades for Lisa Marie to tell her story about her life and growing up a Presley. In 2014,ย Hollywood News Dailyย reported that the only child of Elvis Presley had inked a $15 million deal to write her tell-all. More than a decade later, her fans will finally get to read her story.
Riley Keogh Stepped in To Help Her Mom Write Her Story
Lisa’s daughter Riley Keough tells Page Sixย she is thrilledย that her mom’s book will hit shelves on October 15. She also admits that she stepped in to help her mom complete her biography before and after passing. Riley says it is a special memory that she will never forget.
“Few people had the opportunity to know who my mom was, other than being Elvis’s’ daughter,” Keough said in a statement released Thursday by Random House. “I was lucky to have had that opportunity, and working on preparing her autobiography for publication has been a privilege, albeit a bittersweet one.”
Lisa clarified to her daughter that she wanted her assistance on the project. However, life and commitments pushed the project’s completion date further out. But following her mother’s death, Riley states she spent many hours listening to her mom’s tapes.
The tell-all memoir touches on parts of her life, from her small child to her father Elvis Presley’s impact on her. She also details her four failed marriages, motherhood, and experiencing the heartbreaking death of her only son, Benjamin Keough. There will also be an audiobook released, which Riley Keough will read. Riley says she hopes that her fans will find the book intriguing and that it touches them in the same way it does her.
