This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

Tekken 8Ā is a 9th gen game, meaning that you can’t unfortunately enjoy the new fighting game on your PS4 or Xbox One. However, for those who have purchased the Xbox Series S, this game is available. Series S is often treated as the weakest link of the next generation because of its lower config against those of Series X and PS5. So, how does the Xbox Series S runĀ Tekken 8? The following screenshots are taken on the Xbox Series S version of the game.

Despite the weakest hardware among the 9th-generation consoles, the Xbox Series S has handled itself well during the past couple of years. You can not have a 4K experience playing Tekken 8 on Xbox Series S, of course. But does that mean the performance is sluggish? Never.

Tekken 8 runs at 1080p resolution by 60fps on Xbox Series S, which is a checkmark for the owners of the console. This is an acceptable performance from the smallest Xbox ever, not to mention that your game gets no lag at all while mashing buttons to perform combos in Tekken 8.

As mentioned, you can not play Tekken 8 on 4K resolution. One more difference that the Series S version of the game has with Series X and PS5 is that you’ll be seeing the characters with a little blurry look. It’s a very small and grainy-looking detail that you’d have to zoom in or use a big screen to notice. This isn’t the case on PS5 and Series X.

And that’s it! Xbox Series S runs Tekken 8 nearly on the same performance that its older brother does. It’s worth noting that Tekken 8 does not come with any graphic options in the game, and you can not run this title on 120fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game’s fps flows between 30 to 60, which is really hard to notice as it feels like a 60-locked fps with no frame drops.

Remember that this is an early result for the game. Tekken 8 has just been released, and this info applies to its current version only. It’s not out of this realm if the developers decide to release an update in which you get to choose Tekken 8‘s performance options on 9th-generation consoles, allowing for better quality and higher frame rate.

Tekken 8 is currently available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
