Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Deluxe Edition Owners Are Getting $20 For Free

Don’t spend it all in one place!

Owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are getting $20 worth of in-game currency as consolation for the server downtime that made the game offline for hours after launch. And for an online-only game, that’s a pretty bad way to start out.

The game was released on January 30, 2024, but only the biggest fans who were buying the Deluxe Edition got to play the game three days earlier than everyone else. Couple that with people changing their region to New Zealand to unlock it even quicker, it’s all the more demoralizing when the servers go down an hour after launch.

The reason for the downtime was a bug that marked the game as 100% completed for people right when they booted up Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This took around six hours or so to remedy, after which players were allowed to log in normally.

Cleary fans were not happy about it, and seeing that, Warner Bros. has started sending in-game messages to people who were kicked out of the game after launch. The message says:

Thank you for being one of our first console players during early access of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We recognize that you’ve been patient with us during our initial launch server updates and we’d like to show our appreciation for your patience with a special gift of 2000 LuthorCoins. Thank you again!

The 2000 in-game currency, LutherCoins, is worth $20 in real life, which is a pretty good deal all things considered. This much LutherCoins should allow players to get a few standard skins or one Deluxe or Legendary skin.

This has solidified players’ opinion that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League should have an offline-only mode. Rocksteady has promised an offline mode is coming soon, but it couldn’t come soon enough considering the game’s standard launch is only a couple of days away. Only time will tell whether the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League servers will survive the relatively massive number of players or not.
