This is shocking news for everyone in theย CoDย Zombies community, as one of the key selling points forย MW3ย was Treyarch developing the Zombies mode for this game and polishing it during the year. The leaks suggest more about a PvP experience coming to the MWZ mode, which will probably kill the game. But why is Treyarch leaving? Where’s the idea of PvP coming from? And what is happening to Zombies inย MW3?
Treyarch Leaving MW3 Zombies is How MWZ Dies For Good
The logical reason that comes to one’s mind when hearing this news is that Treyarch is leavingย MW3ย Zombies to focus on its upcoming game.ย Call of Duty 2024ย is the next Black Ops, which means Treyarch is up for a considerable task. The expectations for this game are sky-high, and theย CoDย Zombies community is hoping for a strong return to the Dark Aether story with this title. But this begs the question of what happens to MWZ then?
It seems that Infinity Ward is taking control over the design ofย MW3ย Zombies and its upcoming content. This isn’t the best news out there, but there is a ton of potential for making the first Modern Warfare Zombies experience much better than it is. Studio IW isn’t bad with Zombies, but if the story of allย Call of Dutyย games are now connected, without Treyarch, everything might fall apart.
For example, among the leaked details, there is a ton of info on bringing more DMZ features to MWZ. This refers to the wallet system, exfil streaks, and no hope for a sweet round-based Zombies map. A PvP mode is rumored to be planned forย MW3ย Zombies upon Treyarch leaving the game mode, which goes against the nature of the experience.
This isn’t the final and official data, but withย Call of Duty, every leak seems to come true in the upcoming Seasons. Now if you’re facing other players and killing them while they’re grinding in a Zombies mode, that’s where most players would call it a day for the MWZ. The worst part, however, is that we won’t get a full year of Treyarch’s support for the MW3 Zombies mode, just like pouring ice-cold water on fans’ hopes. And it’s all while MWZ has no new content coming at launch in Season 2.
