Persona is known for having some weird and deadly bosses, and while Clairvoyant Relic isn’t that strange, it sure is lethal. Although this is a Gatekeeper miniboss rather than a full-fledged boss of Tartarus, you’ll still need to take a tactical approach if you want to take it down. Careful use of each of your party members is essential, especially since this miniboss can scan them to learn their weaknesses. You’ll face other tough bosses later, but Clairvoyant Relic is the first real skill check in the game. Here’s how to beat Clairvoyant Relic in Persona 3: Reload.

Clairvoyant Relic Strengths and Weaknesses

You’ll encounter the Clairvoyant Relic boss on Floor 42 of Tartarus in Persona 3: Reload. Though your party members should have all the skills you need to take this boss down, it won’t be as simple as exploiting this miniboss’s elemental weaknesses. That’s because Clairvoyant Relic has none. It even blocks Dark and Light attacks, limiting your offensive actions against it. Even worse, Clairvoyant Relic will scan your party members to reveal their weaknesses at the start of the fight. It wields the elements of Fire, Ice, Wind, and Electric, and it’s sure to use whatever your party members are most vulnerable to.

Taking on Clairvoyant Relic at its full power is a terrible idea. The good news is you don’t have to. Each of your party members possesses a potent debuff ability, and using those debuffs to weaken this boss is the key to taking it down. Use Akihiko’s Tarunda to debuff the Relic’s attack and Yukari’s Sukunda to debuff its accuracy. Not only will the Relic hit less frequently, but those hits will also be far less effective. Ideally, you’ll want to buff your party members as well by using abilities like Tarukaja and Rakukaja to raise your attack and defense. Combining buffs and debuffs in this way makes the boss far easier to defeat.

Defensive Buffs and Guarding

Avoid using Personas with elemental weaknesses that Clairvoyant Relic can exploit. That means no Fire, Ice, Wind, or Electric if possible. Alternate between buffing/debuffing and attacking to protect yourself as best you can while wearing down the boss’s health. Partway through the battle, Clairvoyant Relic will lower the entire party’s defense. When that happens, Guard and refresh your defensive buffs to minimize any incoming damage. To summarize, here are the steps you need to take to beat Clairvoyant Relic in Persona 3: Reload:

  • Don’t use Dark or Light attacks
  • Avoiding exposing vulnerable party members to Fire, Ice, Wind, and Electric damage
  • Debuff Clairvoyant Relic’s attack and accuracy
  • Buff your party members’ attack and defense

Persona 3: Reload is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
