Like any other live service game, Helldivers 2 has many currencies for players to farm, including Samples. You’ll find these things on different planets, and while they might not seem too important, they are crucial to getting some of the best upgrades in the game. So, if you want to get any of them but are having difficulty finding across the vast areas of the game’s planets, there is one way to get as many of them as possible in a few minutes.

Before we dive into tips and strategies, we must clarify that this guide is only for common Sample farming in Helldivers 2. Rare Samples and above are much harder to get, and we haven’t found a way to farm them efficiently. However, for common ones, there’s one type of mission you can repeat repeatedly that doesn’t take a lot of time, and you can do it alone if you dare.

Defend-Type Missions

The easiest way to farm samples in Helldivers 2 is by doing defend-type missions. These usually spawn on hard difficulty and above and require you to beat a set amount of enemies. The good thing about these operations is that, depending on the difficulty, you can find between 5 and 15 Common Samples, making it a great activity to farm quickly. Plus, whether you’re alone or with others, all you must do is set your defenses and run around the small area where the mission takes place to get the items. If you’re farming these missions alone, we recommend the following equipment:

  • Supply Pack
  • Railgun
  • “Guard Dog” Rover
  • Machine Gun Sentry

If you’re playing with others, grabbing Common Samples will be much easier due to the amount of equipment other players will bring. But, if you’re a lone wolf, prepare ahead of time for the onslaught.

How To Use Samples

Once you have your hard-earned Common Samples with you, all you must do is head to your ship’s terminal and unlock new modules. Most modules focus on reducing the deployment time of some Stratagems or even increasing the number of magazines some support weapons get. So, if you have some of this currency, spend it wisely to make your time on the map much easier.

And in the end, you’ll all reap the rewards, making it a win-win situation for all.
