The Thaumaturge Delayed A Week Before Planned Release

The Thaumaturge is delayed… again.

The new horror RPG from 11-Bit Studios and Fool’s Theory, The Thaumaturge, has unfortunately been delayed yet again, this time only a week before the game’s planned February 20th release. The new IP takes place in 20th-century Poland and follows a man who can manipulate otherworldly creatures. The game’s publisher, 11-Bit Studios, has generated a lot of hype in the industry lately after releasing The Invincible while building up to the releases of The Thaumaturge and Frostpunk 2, but it seems the publisher felt it in their best interest to wait for a better time before pushing the game onto storefronts.

The Thaumaturge Delayed To March

With Februaryโ€™s busy launch period, we've decided to move the release of the Thaumaturge to March 4th, 2024.

The game is complete, but we want to give it space so it can be enjoyed the way we believe it deserves.

The news of the delay came from the official Twitter/X account of The Thaumaturge on February 12th. The post announces the new release of the 1800s decision-driven RPG to now be March 4th on PC with the console releases still trailing behind with no official release date as of yet. “The game is complete, but we want to give it space so it can be enjoyed the way we believe it deserves,” They write in the official tweet.

The latter half of February is fairly stacked with major releases like Skull and Bones, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, so it’s not entirely surprising why 11-Bit Studios might find it more enticing to launch the game at a quieter moment. The Thaumaturge developer Fool’s Theory is also currently working on the remake of the original Witcher game that’s set to launch sometime after The Witcher 4, so it’ll be interesting to see what the developer currently has to offer.
