In the Galactic War, there are two groups of enemies, but each has a hierarchy of factions, from weaker to more challenging to defeat and more armored enemies. Fortunately, the soldiers have a wide range of weapons to suit each enemy, such as pistols for the Hunters. But sometimes, Helldivers 2 has giant enemies like the Bile Titan, against which they must use a heavy weapon arsenal, such as the Railgun. But a weapon of a caliber like this, you can’t get it that easy, or it would be a bit unfair to the other aliens you have to face.

How to Get the Railgun in Helldivers 2?

The Railgun is not one of the base weapons you get at the start, nor can you unlock it like the other weapons in. The Strategems are the most potent weapons in the game, and the Railgun is one of them. You can unlock it until you reach Level 20 at the Ship Management Terminal. Once you have the Railgun, you should know how to maneuver this high-caliber weapon. Helldivers 2 only gives 20 ammo for the Railgun. So, you must have impeccable precision when shooting it because there is a cooldown time between each shot. There are two modes of using this massive gun:

  • Safe Mode On
Its operation mode is like other guns; its shots and the immense damage that this gun generates do not vary.
  • Safe Mode Off
The longer you load the shot, the more damage it will do to the enemies. But if you hold the charge for too long, you run the risk of the Railgun and everything around you explode.

If you have not mastered the guns, using it in Safe Mode is best. But if you are a pro with weapons, the Railgun, it is best to use this Helldivers 2 mortal weapon with the Safe Mode Off. You must calculate perfectly the time you keep the charge and opt to do headshots of the heads of the strongest enemies. Don’t waste time shooting for the sake of shooting even the weakest enemies. The Railgun can even appear in a specific mission to kill a Terminid boss, the Bile Titan. Its appearance rate for this mission is low, but it can spawn in a supply pod.

Unlocking weapons and leveling up to get all the Strategem is very important. You never know when you’ll encounter an elite enemy or a boss resistant to grenades.
