On Saturday, Feb. 24, Swift performed in Sydney, Australia, as part of her Eras Tour. During the surprise section of her concert, the star raised eyebrows by performing two breakup anthems. She began with an acoustic rendition of her 2006 track “Should’ve Said No.” The song, which was featured on her debut album, is about a partner asking for forgiveness after admitting they had cheated. It features the lyrics:

Since both tracks are about being betrayed, fans think the singer could have hinted Alwyn was unfaithful to her. A TikToker addressed the theory in a viral video. They even suggested Alwyn should go into “hiding” due to the cheating allegations.

Fans in the comments agreed Swift’s song choices may have been a dig toward her ex-boyfriend. One person said they “gasped” when they heard the mashup and instantly “knew” the songs were about the actor. Another fan theorized Swift’s setlists could be preparing fans for her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, which is speculated to be about Alwyn.

The Cheating Rumors First Began A Year Ago

Alwyn was first caught up in cheating rumors back in April 2023. Shortly after news broke that he and Swift had gone their separate ways, Alwyn’s The Brutalist co-star, Emma Laird, shared a photo with him on Instagram. The post raised speculation that Alwyn was dating the actress and that their relationship began when Alwyn was still with Swift.

Although it’s unclear whether Alwyn and Laird are together or not, Swifties are still convinced he and the singer didn’t end on good terms.
