Midas managed to escape from the dungeon where he was held captive by Hades, and we can discover more about his story by investigating Midas’ jail cell while earning extra Experience Points and cosmetic rewards. We need to know what Jar of Essence and The River Styx are and where they are located to complete these new Rise of Midas Fortnite Quests, and this is the only guide you’ll need.

All Phases of the Rise of Midas Quests
The Rise of Midas quests will be divided into five phases, becoming available over time. Currently, the only quests that can be completed are the “Midas Rises” and “Et Tu, Brutus?” quests. You can see the dates when all phases will be available below.

Phase 3: Jules vs The Golden Touch Quests

How To Complete Damage Opponents While Under the Effects of the River Styx
In order to complete the “Damage Opponents While Under the Effects of the River Styx” quest in Fortnite, you need to go to the west side of the map, more specifically to the biome where The Underworld and Grim Gate are located. The green water in this biome is the River Styx, and when you touch it, you will gain the ability to Dash three times.
You can tell that you have the River Styx effect on you by the green skulls you can see on your character’s waist. Once you enter this river and get the Dash trait, you need to deal 300 damage to an enemy to complete this quest in Fortnite.
How To Complete Hit Structures at Grim Gate To Collect a Jar of Essence in Fortnite
To find Jar of Essence in Fortnite, you must first land at the Grim Gate location. After landing in Grim Gate, first, find a weapon to defend yourself with, then start hitting the structures with your Pickaxe. After breaking a few structures, you will find the Jar of Essence item in Fortnite.
How To Complete Deliver the Jar of Essence to Jules in Fortnite
Now you need to take the Jar of Essence you found in Fortnite to the NPC named Jules. Jules is located at Piney Pumps, a gas station just southwest of Lavish Lair.
How To Complete Mod Weapons & Eliminate Players with Fully Modded Weapons
The Mod Benches you can use to mod your weapons are now located in Bunkers, not Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. Bunkers unlock towards the middle of the game and they make a siren sound before they unlock, after hearing this siren sound you can go to the Bunkers and have a juicy loot and mod your weapons.
Your first quest is completed when you mod your weapon, but to complete the second quest you must fully mod your desired weapon and kill five enemies with it.

How To Complete Hire Specialists in Different Matches
There are 16 different NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 and we can only hire eight of them. In this quest, we should hire three of these hireable NPCs.
Here are the locations of these hireable NPCs:
- Lovely Lodge (Aphrodite): Lovely Lodge is located between Unmoored Manor and Seaside Villa.
- Lil’ Villa (Meowscles): Lil’ Villa is a one-story building located northeast of the Fencing Fields.
- Snooty Steppes (Bravo Leader): This NPC can be found in the center of the Snooty Steppes.
- Reckless Railways (Poseidon): Poseidon is located in the Train Station of the Reckless Railways.
- Rescue Station (Laguna): Rescue Station is located between the Classy Courts and Grand Glacier.
- Slumberyard (Spartan Assassin): Slumberyard is located in the northeast of the map, and you can find Spartan Assassin here.
- Lavish Lair (Artemis): Artemis can be found at the entrance of the Lavish Lair.
- Rebel’s Roost (Myna): Myna is located in the woods of the Rebel’s Roost.

To complete the “Purchase From Midas Vending Machines or Service Stations” quest in Fortnite you first need to know where to find these devices. Then you need to spend some Gold Bars from these stations.

How To Complete Scan the Marigold for Recording Devices
To be able to complete the “Scan the Marigold for Recording Devices” quest you need to know where the Marigold is located in Fortnite. The Marigold is a ship in the gulf on the west side of the map.
After landing the Marigold, find the lower section where the Vault is located. You will then see a tripod right in front of the Vault that you can interact with. Interact with this tripod to complete your quest.

How To Complete Collect Bars
There are several ways to complete the “Collect Bars” quest in Fortnite. Such as killing enemies, finding a golden chicken, or entering the Vault. However, the best way to get Gold Bars is to enter a Vault or Bunker.
Bunkers appear towards the middle of the game with the sound of a siren. Vaults can be found in Coastal Comms, Estate Station, or Unmoored Manor.
How To Complete Investigate Midas’ Jail Cell
To complete the “Investigate Midas’ Jail Cell” quest in Fortnite, we must land in The Underworld. Then, at the bottom of the room where Hades is located, we will find the chamber where Midas was imprisoned, and the exclamations on our screen will guide us to the exact quest location when we are close enough.

After investigating Midas’ cell in Fortnite, we must find one of the 4 different Scrying Pools to talk to Marigold. The easiest Scrying Pools to find are located in the Mount Olympus location. To complete the quest “Corroborate with Marigold on Midas’ Escape“, we will need to speculate on how Midas escaped while talking to Marigold in the Scrying Pools. If you don’t want to deal with guessing, you can complete your quest by directly selecting the options below.
Here is how Midas escaped from prison in Fortnite:
- Click “Continue” and select Marigold.
- Select “A guard unshackled one of his hands??“.
- Then select the dialog “He used his free hand to turn the other shackle gold!“.
- Finally, select the dialog “He shoved open the cell door?“.
How To Complete Hit an Olympian Boss with Chains of Hades
To complete this quest, we must first find Chains of Hades. We can find this item in many ways in Fortnite.
- Floor loot (luck based)
- Chest (luck based)
- Olympian / Underworld Chest (luck based)
- Killing Hades (guaranteed way)
After obtaining the Hades Whip, we need to hit an Olympian Boss four times. If we get the item by killing Hades, we can complete the mission by hitting the Cerberus boss nearby.
How To Complete Damage Players with Chains of Hades or a Harbinger SMG
In Fortnite, both Chains of Hades and Harbinger SMG drop from the Hades boss. We can find Hades in The Underworld location, and after killing him, we can use one of these two weapons to deal 750 damage to an enemy to complete the quest.
