The long-awaited car update that players have been waiting for has finally arrived. Now we’ll be able to make steering wheel cars that actually allow us to turn in Lego Fortnite. The best part is that we don’t have to spend hours and hours exploiting Lego Fortnite‘s various bugs to achieve this, now anyone can build cars that work properly. Now let’s take a look at what has been added to Lego Fortnite with Mechanical Mayhem Update and how we can build cars.

As mentioned earlier, building a vehicle with a steering wheel in Lego Fortnite was a pain, and you usually had to exploit the game to make it before this update. With the new wheels and driver’s seats added to the game, you can do this easily. First, let’s get to know the critical items added with the Lego Fortnite Mechanical Mayhem Update.

Driver’s Seats

Driver’s Seats allow you to control the car you will build. It seems that there is no difference between them other than their appearance. Therefore, you can choose the seat that you think will be the most aesthetically pleasing for the vehicle you will build.

  • Small Driver’s Seat
  • Medium Driver’s Seat
  • Large Driver’s Seat

Power Centers

Power Centers are the engines of cars and thanks to them our Lego Fortnite cars with steering wheels work. For Power Centers to work, you need to put a Power Cell inside them. However, we don’t know if this is some kind of bug, but we were able to operate the cars we built even though there is no Power Cell in the Power Center. This is probably something that shouldn’t happen and will be fixed soon.

  • Small Power Center
  • Medium Power Center
  • Large Power Center

Powered Wheels

These are new wheels added to the game and are automatically connected to Driver’s Seats and Power Centers.

  • Small Powered Wheel
  • Medium Powered Wheel
  • Large Powered Wheel

Turnable Wheels

Turnable Wheels are the type of Powered Wheels that have the ability to turn. With these wheels, you will have a car with a steering wheel in Lego Fortnite.

  • Small Turnable Wheel
  • Medium Turnable Wheel
  • Large Turnable Wheel

You can use these items to build a car of your own design. But if that sounds like too much work, you can craft the ready-made cars and start using them in no time.

Lego Fortnite has ready-made car templates called Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler that you can craft. For example, you can create a car by putting pieces in order like you build a Simple Shack.

These three vehicles have their own specific advantages and these are as follows:

  • Speeder: The Speeder is a one-seater and a great vehicle for quick trips.
  • Offroader: If you’re playing with friends, Offroader will be indispensable because it’s a four-seater vehicle.
  • Hauler: Need to move items from one base to another? No problem, build a Hauler and easily transport your entire base in the haulage of this vehicle. Moreover, it is a four-seater car.

Follow the steps below to build ready-made car templates in Lego Fortnite:

  1. Press the “Q” key to open the build menu.
  2. Navigate to the “Builds” section.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and under the Rugged Rollers heading you will see the Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler vehicles.
  4. Click on the car you want and place it in a suitable place.
  5. Then complete the car by placing the desired parts in order.

Wrench allows you to use the R, F, and C controls that appear at the bottom right when you get in your car in Lego Fortnite. With the Wrench, you can assign a Thruster to one of these buttons and when you press the button you assigned, the Thruster you want is activated.

  1. Install Thruster anywhere you want on your Lego Fortnite car.
  2. Then grab the Wrench and left-click on the Thruster.
  3. Then set which button you want the Thruster you modified to work with (Channel 1 [R], Channel 2 [F], Channel 3 [C]).

To unlock the recipe for the Wrench, simply add a Wooden Rod and Cord to your inventory.
