Don’t let the purple people and gardening fool you: there’s a cartel on the loose in Palia. Sure, it’s a Grimalkin cartel, and cute cat-people aren’t the traditional boogieman. They’re still causing unwanted mischief, and it’s up to you to investigate. Helping Subira settle into her new life in the Order is one thing, but sticking your nose in Grimalkin business is another. Unfortunately, there’s no way around it if you want to help. Put your thinking cap on, because it’s time to get to solve this feline fiasco. Here’s how to complete Pursuit of the Truth in Palia.

You might’ve grown close to Zeki during the Better Days quest, but don’t let that stop you. Subira assures you that the Order isn’t going after Zeki anyway, so don’t let fear for your furry friend in Palia keep you from diving into Pursuit of the Truth. The quest kicks off with Subira talking about the illegal package found in Bahari Bay. The nightlight it contained can see through Grimalkin illusions, making it a hot item for the Order. Subira asks you to search Zeki’s private residence for clues, so that’s where you’ll need to start.

To get inside Zeki’s house you’ll need the key which you obtain by befriending him. You receive the key at Friendship Level 3, so put your best foot forward and get close to the Grimalkin. On the table inside (in the top-left corner when you first enter) you’ll find a mysterious riddle. Fortunately, its references to a “beacon of light” and “guide for lost souls” point the way. You need to head to the Old Lighthouse in Bahari Bay. Inside you’ll find a trap door.

The Mysterious Letter

Enter the trap door, and you’ll find a secret room beneath. There’s some interesting stuff inside, but don’t get distracted. Your objective is the Mysterious Letter sitting on the table. It’s a shipping schedule with dropoff times and locations, but you can’t recognize the seal on it. Bring the Mysterious Letter back to Subira to identify. Talking to Subira completes the quest, but she clams up before giving you any answers. You still get 25 Renown, a handful of items, and an improved relationship with Subira as a reward, however.

To summarize, here’s what you need to do to complete Pursuit of the Truth in Palia:

  • Speak with Subira
  • Get the mysterious note from Zeki’s house
  • Enter the trapdoor in the lighthouse
  • Get the mysterious letter
  • Bring the mysterious letter to Subira

Palia is available for PC and Nintendo Switch.
