No one can deny that Gray Zone Warfare has some of the most beautiful graphics in any co-op PvEvP game; however, they can take a toll on your rig if you don’t have the right settings. As an early access game, you should know that there’ll be plenty of performance issues. Still, there are many workarounds to make your experience much more smoother. Here, we’ve gathered our favorite settings that have given us a steady 60fps experience without compromising Gray Zone Warfare‘s visual style.

Thankfully, for those with not-so-powerful rigs, there are many graphical settings in Gray Zone Warfare you can tweak to improve your experience. Remember that certain frame rate issues are also tied to server stability. We’ve found out our game runs smoother early in the morning when there aren’t many players around. However, during peak hours, our game tends to slow down more. Regardless, here are the settings we recommend to make your game run better:

  • 3D Resolution: Between 50 and 100
  • Global Illumination: Low
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • Texture Resolution: Medium
  • Effects Quality: Medium
  • Reflections Quality: Low
  • Foliage Quality: Medium
  • Post Processing: Medium
  • Motion Blur: Depends on your preference.
  • Anti-Aliasing/Upscaling Method: FSR
  • FidelityFX Frame Generation: On
  • Fidelity FX Super Resolution: Performance

By playing with these settings, we’ve gotten a stable 60fps at all times. It may vary if you’re entering a new zone or if there’s a bit of lag in the server, but that isn’t your rig’s fault.

Furthermore, remember that while playing with these settings for Gray Zone Warfare, early access games tend to be unstable. The bright side is that, throughout this testing period, the developers can iron out performance issues via updates, so we recommend being patient and waiting for performance patches. Still, the game is quite smooth, and even at its lowest settings, the graphical fidelity is top-notch.
