In a recent episode of her podcast, misSPELLING, Tori Spelling admitted that sheโs not really a fan of traditional anniversary gifts. Hers are much more โฆ shall we say out of the box? โIf you tell me one of the traditional [anniversary gifts] I can tell you what I made him,โ she said. When she got to brass (which is traditionally considered to be the anniversary gift for the 21 years of marriage, but Spelling filed for divorce after 18 years), she said, โOh, the brass c**k ring was really good that year. [I] hammered it. Oh, my God. Iโm so talented. I welded it.โย
Although this may be her most adventurous anniversary gift, it is not the first one that Spelling made herself. โI would always make something for Dean on our wedding anniversary because you know anyone can buy someone something, allegedly,โ she said. “If you can, thatโs very nice. But I always say homemade equals love. Whether thatโs in the past, present, or future, I still maintain that.โ
There have been a lot of questions about what exactly led to Tori Spelling pulling the plug on her marriage. It has been well-documented that Dean McDermott had his own struggles, but Spelling briefly commented on her split in her podcast. โI filed for divorce. So obviously, weโre getting a divorce, but I hadnโt thought about [our anniversary],” she said. โWow, May 7th itโs just going to be another day from now on โฆ and that made me kind of think about a lot of things.โ
The former couple share five children and this final chapter in their story is a sad one.
