While Prince Harry struggles to get an ounce of thought from his brother and father, his wife, Meghan Markle, has her own share of troubles, particularly with her brand American Riviera Orchard. Those following the “ex-royals” will know that they’ve been rather busy as of late, from their flashy PR trip to Nigeria and Invictus Games to their bizarre Netflix show, including Meghan’s scheme to overthrow Martha Stewart. Despite her efforts, the Duchess of Sussex is now “in tears” as she realizes that no one, except a select few, likes her fancy jam.

In an interview withย The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn reported that Meghan was “in tears” when “her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special.”ย Itย was more than just the general public that wasย jammin’ย to the Duchess of Sussex’s failed product; several royals wereย in onย the smear campaignย as well, according toย Vulture.

Hundreds of users in the r/SaintMeghanMarkle subreddit echoed the negative sentiment regarding Meghan and her “ridiculous” American Riviera Orchard brand, calling her “bougie and stupid.” Because of such intense backlash, Tom Quinn says that Meghan Markle feels “unfairly criticized” and that “people are unfairly picking on her.”

“She cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.”

The royal expert goes on to explainย the reasonย the Duchess of Sussex is now unable to emotionally endure all the public criticismย is thatย she’s too “sensitive about any criticism of her luxurious lifestyle in the US.”ย It’s almost as if sheย thought living in the high-end neighborhood of Montecito, California, she, too, could enjoy the positive publicity of famous American celebrities like Oprah.ย Evidently, this isn’t the case.

Still, Meghan Markle hasn’t given up yet; The Mirror reports that she will have a few PR-boosting interviews with “specially selected journalists.” Even if that works out in the short term, she’s going to need a lot more than just interviews to clear her and Prince Harry’s negative reputation with the general public.
