Savannah Chrisley took to social media, as many did, to react to former President Donald Trump‘s conviction in his hush-money trial in New York City. While it wasn’t surprising to hear Savannah voicing her support for the Republican candidate amidst the news, a component of her post raised eyebrows. Among the photos Savannah shared, one showed her and her 11-year-old sister, Chloe Chrisley, posing with the politician.
As Savannah reflected on her feelings on the verdicts, commenters noted how the policies Trump champions, as well as his ideology, are not often complimentary of the Black community.
While Savannah regards Chloe as her sister, she is biologically her niece — daughter of brother Kyle Chrisley and ex-girlfriend Angela Johnson. Chloe is also a Black child, and people are speculating on how much that’s being taken into account in her parenting.
Commenters Felt It Wasn’t Right Chloe Didn’t Have A Say In The Situation
Savannah is actively guardian to Chloe and her 18-year-old brother Grayson as parents Todd and Julie Chrisley serve jail time. As such, many feel it’s her responsibility to recognize and acknowledge all the sides of Chloe’s background and make her feel comfortable in them. Commenters argue that supporting Donald Trump shows a lack of effort to do that.
Girl do what you want. But leave little miss Chloe out of it. He has made racial remarks and encourage racism for people who look like her. SHE IS NOT WHITE! She is very much black and will be treated as such as she grows older.

Savannah Spoke Out About Chloe’s Race in 2020
Savannah Chrisley has spoken out before about her biracial niece. In a 2020 interview with PEOPLE, Savannah admitted to facing “judgment” when in public with Chloe.
I take Chloé out with me and we’ll go get our nails done or we’ll go have lunch and we’ll just have a day to ourselves and the looks that I get from people — it’s just devastating.
To see the judgement from people. … We’re in 2020, this should not be happening. It’s my duty to stand up for Chloe and for people and all young girls and women and people of color. It’s not enough to say you’re not racist. I mean, we’ve heard that line a zillion times.
