For her part, Paltrow has gone through a divorce in the past with her former husband, singer Chris Martin. The two have remained close friends amid their split, and she’s ready to pass on her expertise to Affleck.
“Gwyneth has been following the situation closely and believes really strongly that she could help them by sharing some of the tools that worked for her and Chris Martin,” a source tells In Touch Weekly.
“People ask her for that kind of help all the time, but she’s very picky about who she’ll give her time to. Ben isn’t just anyone though, she’s been friends with him for nearly 30 years and she hates to see him going through this sort of pain.”
The insider went on to reveal that Paltrow understands that Affleck isn’t perfect. However, when it comes to choosing between he and JLo, she’s “Team Ben” all the way. The Shallow Hal star allegedly wants to try to help Affleck and Lopez get their relationship back on track. However, if that doesn’t work, she can also offer up some advice about divorce.
“It’s typical Gwyneth, she always loves to meddle, but at least her heart is in the right place,” the informant dished.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck is said to be focused on his career and children at the moment. Instead of worrying about his future with Jennifer Lopez, he’s reportedly trying to live in the moment as things progress naturally.
