Meghan Markle had a firm grip on Prince Harry long before it was revealed that he is overly dependent on her for his life. While, as the husband, he naturally must have a say in some of the decisions the Sussexes made over the years, it’s becoming more clear who is really in charge of the ex-royal couple โย Markle. Per the Mirror, celebrity biographer Tom Bower unveils in his book, The House of Beckham, that it was the Duchess who ordered Prince Harry to snub David Beckham at the Invictus Games in Sydney.
It began when Meghan Markle was “outraged that in the royal hierarchy, she was subservient to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and the future Queen.” In other words, her hopes to become the “new Diana of the Royal Family” had come to an end as the attention and public focus instead shifted to Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Markle was enraged by jealousy; Bower expounds how the situation got worse and worse,
“In her bad mood, both she and Harry were constantly searching the internet for critical comments about themselves. She was not happy to read anything flattering in the media about the Beckhams.”

To recap, before the Invictus Games in Sydney, rumors had spread that the Beckhams were spreading “nasty” comments about the Sussexes. According to Bower, Meghan Markle already had a hostile disposition toward the Beckhams since her wedding:
“Television pictures of the couple arriving at St George’s Chapel for the wedding showed Victoria stony-faced and David chewing gum. Meghan had not invited them to the wedding dinner. Her veto was an insult.”

This, on top of the negative rumors about David and Victoria badmouthing the Sussexes, caused Meghan “to want to punish the Beckhams.” Beckham was unaware of the drama brewing, so he was bewildered when he realized the Prince had snubbed the footballer at the Invictus Games. Even “photographs of the two together were forbidden.”
Of course, it was Meghan Markle who orchestrated all this to keep her and Harry as the focus and avoid media competition with the Beckhams. Of course, this plan has now backfired now that royal experts like Tom Bower are showing the world what kind of Duchess Markle is truly like.
