It’s no secret that being the royal representative of an entire kingdom comes with a boatload of pressure and stress, but sometimes, King Charles III’s bottled-up temper bubbles over โ in public. From the viral “bloody” leaky pen incident to the King’s rage if “his underwear not being folded in a certain way,” “Charles can have a terrible temper,” a former employee tells The Daily Beast.
“Anything he perceives as incompetence” typically sends King Charles off the edge. It’s normal for him to “go off at the staff in pretty blunt terms when he perceives someone has not done their job properly” or if he feels someone is acting like an “idiot.” This is all in the context of those working alongside him, but it’s easy to imagine his ill-tempered fury is not only reserved for those in service to the King.
For years now, the Sussexes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have been at odds with the palace while still using their former royalty to bolster their fame. As a result, King Charles banished the Duke of Sussex from his royal estate. Prince William has taken things a step further and has banned Harry from The Royal Family. Top these extreme measures with the “terrible temper” problem the King has, and one could see how this royal rift appears impossible to repair. And it’s not just Charles who has anger issues:

“If anyone gets anything wrong” with just the King’s royal bath time, “everybody is scolded,” claims Princess Diana’s former butler. If some fuss with folded underwear and bath towels can’t be dealt with peacefully, imagine what a challenge it’ll be to get Charles or William to sit down with wayward Harry and come to amicable terms. Of course, there’s always hope for peace โ just after Charles gets done “smashing windows with chairs” โ like he did “on vacation in the South of France.”
