The 2024 League of Legends Anima Squad Event brings the new PvE game mode Swarm that thrusts you into an intense battle against seemingly endless enemies. The maps get progressively harder as you complete them. Undoubtedly, the Subterranean Lab is a difficult Swarm map to beat in League of Legends. Just when you think you gain the upper hand, the enemy jumps in with something so overwhelming that the match is over before you blink. But there is a way you can accomplish this, whether solo or in a team.

Subterranean Lab features some heavy enemies even on the easiest difficulty. So, if you want to survive long enough to face Bel’Veth, you’ll need the right plan.

Position Yourself Accordingly

Coming off the first two maps, you’ll immediately notice how tight the Subterranean Lab is. It’s too easy to get backed into a corner or held in a tight space, and that spells a quick death.

So, you’ll need to learn the map layout and position properly. This will help you beat the LoL Subterranean Lab Swarm. Top-right and bottom-left in particular are deadly. There are more open areas near the center that you’ll want to stick to. Plus, those areas can help you run the enemy in a circle when things get too congested.

Use the Environment Whenever Possible

In League of Legends Swarm, the maps have unique features, like the healing in the first one. The Subterranean Lab features freeze zones. One’s near the top, and the other is near the bottom-right. Focus on activating these when numerous enemies are present to freeze as many as possible. It’ll allow you to find more health or escape a chokepoint.

Choose the Right Upgrades/Augments

No set League of Legends Champion performs the best here. Just choose who you are the most comfortable with. If you need some ideas, Jinx is a solid choice at these early stages. Her area damage will come in handy for the swarms. Briar is a good Champion to go with too.

What matters most, though, are your upgrades and augments. We want to lean heavily on damage and lowering the cooldown time of your Abilities. Health and Armor are important, but we want to damage as much as possible to collect all the XP we need to get more upgrades during the match.

Use Those Battle Bunny Boones

The Battle Bunny Boones are some of the most exciting things about the Swarms in League of Legends, and they’re a must-have in the Subterranean Lab. Whenever you notice that glow, beeline for it. Enemies will rush in before you know it. So, it never hurts to have a strong buff, even if temporary, to hold them off.

How To Beat Bel’Veth in Subterranean Lab Swarm

Bel’Veth is not a fun enemy to fight in LoL Swarm. Unlike the first two maps, once you hit the 15-minute mark, you aren’t automatically transported to the area to fight the final boss. Instead, you’re shuffled right back to the spawn point. Only one problem: there’s a shrinking death wave coming. You need to make it to the top-right corner where Bel’Veth is before it’s too late.

Now, once you do, you’ll take this League of Legends Swarm boss on in two phases. The first phase will see you mainly dodging her charge and falling rocks. But dodging is vital. Getting hit by her charge hurts. So, stay on the move.

Once half her HP is depleted, the second phase kicks in. She’ll bring out pods that she’ll cause to explode at random. There’s knockback, so be sure you aren’t hit back into that death wave because it’s over if that happens.

Pay close attention to Bel’Veth when she’s in her final form. She’ll use the attacks you’ve already seen, but they’re buffed and can one-shot you. Your entire plan to beat the Subterranean Lab Swarm can end in a flash, so be sure you memorize the layout of her dash and react in time.

All you need to do is get by that portion, and it’s smooth sailing. The best thing you can do to prepare for it all is to try your best to go into this fight with full health. Plus, out of the upgrades you can get, try to weave in some movement-based ones. You’ll want to go as fast as possible to keep up with Bel’Veth.
