Justin Timberlake appeared in court virtually this week to face the music in his DWI arrest case. The singer was in Antwerp, Belgium on his world tour when he pleaded not guilty to the charge of drunk driving. Timberlake has remained steady in his claims that he was not intoxicated on the night of his arrest. However, he did have his driving privledges revoked in the state of New York during the hearing.
According to People Magazine, Justin Timberlake stayed mostly silent during the hearing, speaking only to answer questions from the judge. He wore a black collared shirt and appeared stoic as he learned that his license would be revoked.

However, the punishment was not unexpected. Later, the singer’s lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., told the media that driving suspension is “standard with every DUI.” Timberlake is now expected to be seen at another hearing on August 9. He’s also scheduled for a court date on September 13. However, things could change in the case before then.
The singer and his legal team are working to get the charges dropped as they proclaim innocence. However, many fans aren’t so sure, especially since Timberlake refused a breathalyzer test and failed a field sobriety test before his DWI arrest.
“Basically admitting guilt when you refuse,” one person tweeted about the situation.
“Refusing a breathalyzer test is an automatic one-year suspension. Why would one refuse the test if you knew you weren’t drunk?” another quipped.
“You don’t refuse the breathalyzer if you haven’t been drinking, in fact you would beg to take it,” a third person wrote.
“So did they ever get a blood alcohol test results. If not you can’t charge him solely based on a field sobriety test,” another comment read.
Justin Timberlake was arrested in June in Sag Harbor, New York. He was arrested for DWI and cited with running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane of travel. He was held overnight and released the next day.
Fans have plenty of thoughts about Justin Timberlake’s arrest. However, the singer isn’t likely to have any serious repercussions brought against him as a first-time offender. “This is a first offense. He can probably just pay a fine, take a school, and get his license back,” one fan pointed out.
