Simone Biles undoubtedly defined the limits of human athleticism at the 2024 Paris Olympics, cementing her legacy as the greatest gymnast ever. With unparalleled power, grace, and precision, Simone Biles shattered records that many believed were unbreakable. From her historic number of gold medals to her innovative moves, the athlete’s performance in Paris was nothing short of extraordinary. Besides athleticism, viewers also witnessed Biles showcase an unforgettable act of sisterhood alongside teammate Jordan Chiles, which went viral. Let’s delve into everything about Biles’s run in the Paris Olympics, including all the records she broke during the Games.

Simone Biles’s Medals at the Paris Olympics

Simone Biles entered the 2024 Paris Olympics with an aura of invincibility. The Paris Olympics was the perfect opportunity for the young gymnast to prove her title as the Greatest of All Time. Recall that Biles struggled with her mental health at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and pulled out of multiple event finals. However, the 27-year-old didn’t let what happened in Tokyo stop her. Returning with a bang, she solidified her place as one of the best, finishing her run with four medals. Biles began by leading the U.S. back to the top of the podium in the team competition after winning gold.

The athlete followed that up by earning two individual gold medals in all-around and vault. Expectations were high for Biles heading into the final day of competition, where she was a gold medal contender in both beam and floor. But in what she classified as an “odd” beam final, she recorded a fall, as did five other finalists. In the end, Biles finished fifth with a score of 13.100. With one more medal on the line, she returned to the competition area for the floor final alongside Teammate Jordan Chiles. Unfortunately, Biles failed to secure the highest spot on the podium. Her 14.133 score put her behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade’s leading score of 14.166 and ahead of Chiles’s 13.766.

During the medal ceremony, Biles and Chiles made a gesture that had everyone talking. The teammates bowed in honor of Andrade while she received her gold medal. The beautiful sight quickly went viral, igniting a flurry of admiration and praise. However, it didn’t sit right with NFL star Marlon Humphrey. In a tweet, he described the gesture as “literally disgusting,” which earned him a series of backlash. In response to Humphrey’s remarks, Biles revealed her actions were simply an act of sportsmanship and sisterhood. According to her, Andrade deserved it as she had the best routine that evening and at the Olympics.
