King Charles Develops New Strategy to Ensure His ‘Legacy Remains Once He’s Gone’

King Charles has the ultimate game plan to win on both sides

King Charles has a fireproof plan to ensure his legacy remains untainted by his long-prevailing feud with Prince Harry. Since stepping down from their duties as senior royals in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle left a gap that other royals have strived to fill to ensure the smooth running of the monarchy. The couple has further mounted pressure on the family with their tell-all exposés in interviews, documentaries, and the memoir, Spare. These daggers have deepened the rift between King Charles and his youngest son, Prince Harry.

With the monarch’s cancer battle raising concerns about the future of the monarchy, King Charles, more than ever, is faced with the pressure of building a formidable legacy, like his predecessors. Hence, rather than dwell on one riddled with familial feuds, the 75-year-old is choosing instead to look beyond it all and focus on the yet unscarred generation. One source divulged this new gameplan to a news outlet, saying,

“The strategy now is to move away from focusing on what the Sussexes are doing and place an emphasis on the next generation of royals.”

The source explained that the monarch has realized that the younger members of the royal family, including his grandkids Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louise are invaluable assets at his disposal. The trio is less less-likely to stir drama like his younger son, making them more convenient options to keep King Charles’ legacy alive rather than dwell on what might have been with his second son. The source added,

“King Charles is very aware that the younger generation is the future of the monarchy and his focus is to ensure that its legacy remains once he has gone — and that can be secured in the Wales era.”

This revelation of King Charles’ plans to create a solid legacy comes just days after an insider revealed that the monarch planned to welcome Prince Harry back into the fold. Speaking to In Touch Weekly, the source claimed that the Sussexes’ latest tours to Nigeria and Colombia caught the King’s attention, and might have given him the idea of recruiting Harry and Meghan to undertake official duties that would seem unappealing to other royals.

According to the source, the royal family needed more hands to assist the overwhelmed working royals, especially with King Charles and Kate Middleton’s ongoing battle with cancer. Regardless of how desperate the monarch might become to have the duo back, Harry and Meghan would only snag that chance if they apologize for their wrongdoings. The monarch’s reported plans to focus instead on the younger generation could indicate the “apology” didn’t work out so well, if indeed the window was ever open.
