By now, we all know that Dave Grohl hopped onto Instagram on September 10th and dropped a little message to all his followers detailing his recent affair. Grohl announced that he recently became the father of a new baby daughter and that he’s trying to regain the trust of his family and earn their forgiveness.
However, while the situation is quite devastating, it seems his fans are more upset with how he announced the situation, rather than how he majorly messed up. Because of it, they’re turning his entire affair into a mockery and using Dave’s own lyrics to do it.
He’s Got ‘Another Confession To Make’
Right away, the most obvious play on words hit X/Twitter. “Dave Grohl missed a trick not opening this statement with “I’ve got another confession to make”,” says Elliot Mitchell in a post with over 60k likes, playing on the lyrics of Foo Fighters’ song, “Best Of You”.
Another user hit up the comments with “To be fair, if I was his wife and he started his IG post off with, โIโve got another confession to makeโฆโ I would probably explode,” making a completely fair point.
Though, Elliot wasn’t the only one to start throwing out Foo Fighters lyrics to relate to the situation. In another comment, an X user stated, “Dave: โdone, done, and Iโm on to the next oneโฆโ,” using lyrics from the song “All My Life.”
Another user posted “best post I’ve seen about the dave grohl situation” with an image attached reading: “There goes my hero,” followed by “Watch him as he hoes” from the song “My Hero.”
It’s clear that Dave’s fans are less than pleased with the situation, but it doesn’t make their reactions any less funny. They certainly didn’t find the scandal “Too alarmin’ now to talk about.”
“I guess all his life he was lookin for something,” says another X user, who had to get in on the lyrical mockery about the whole situation. We probably shouldn’t be laughing about Grohl cheating on his wife and fathering a child outside of his marriage, but it’s downright funny what these social media users have said about it all.
