Sometimes Quantity is Quality and Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO is Living Proof of It

Perfectly balanced

We often hear that quality is better than quantity, but Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO is living proof that both terms can work perfectly together. After the surprise reveal of the full roster for Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO, we all saw that the developers had many things, or rather, characters in store for us. Movie fighters such as Broly and Janemba and even a few more Dragon Ball Super characters showed up. However, the amount of combatants doesn’t mean they lack quality. On the contrary, you only need to take a quick look at some of the movies and small details to realize that the developers aren’t just throwing random ingredients in this cocktail. They are making one masterful dish, and we can’t wait to try it.

With 182 characters encompassing the full roster of Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO, many might wonder if each one holds the same level of quality. Well, they do. Since I played Budokai Tenkaichi 3, or Sparking METEOR as it’s known in Japan, seeing the moves I have ingrained in my memory under a modern spotlight is unbelievable. Furthermore, despite the large number of fighters, the developers clearly paid a lot of attention to detail to them.

The Attention to Detail in Every Character is Mind-Blowing

For instance, during the final roster trailer, you can see Cooler’s mask go up during his transformation or the iconic moves Broly uses against Trunks and Goku during the movie. All of these things show that the team behind this game isn’t just throwing something out there for the sake of nostalgia. Instead, it shows how well the team understands its audience and wants to make everyone happy with a meticulous product.

Now that we’re officially three weeks away from getting our hands on Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO and its full roster, the wait is becoming even worse. Yet, I know many of us fans won’t be disappointed with the final product. Dragon Ball games have not been bad at all recently, but we really needed a proper fighting one. Even if Xenoverse 2 is still standing strong, having the Budokai Tenkaichi series return is unbelievable in the best possible way. So, don’t forget to save the date and prepare to take the Z Fighters out for a new bout.
