Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are two of Hollywood’s best talents and closest friends. Their bond is no secret, but the latest report about their friendship coming under strain because of Witherspoon’s alleged new relationship is likely not something anyone expected to read. And yet, here we are.
Witherspoon and her ex-husband, Jim Toth, finalized their divorce in August 2023. At the time, Aniston rallied around her best friend to show her support. “When Reese got divorced, she was really lonely, and Jen went out of her way to include her in her life,” a source told Life&Style. The source also claimed that Aniston had been there and believed she and Witherspoon were “true friends.”
However, now that Witherspoon is reportedly dating German financier Oliver Haarmann (who happens to be nine years her senior), she reportedly has no time for her friend. “When she’s not with him, for some strange reason, she still doesn’t have any interest in hanging out,” the source claims. It has also been reported that because of Witherspoon’s new relationship: “She’s acting like she no longer has any use for Jen, it’s very hurtful and has her nose out of joint.”
The insider alleges: “Reese doesn’t see it that way of course, in her view she’s not out of line and it’s just a case of Jen getting jealous and being needy!”

Aniston and Witherspoon are more than friends; they are co-stars and appear together on The Morning Show. Reading a report like this and knowing the two women are so close is pretty hard to digest. Earlier this month, Witherspoon shared many photos from the Emmys, which included Aniston (suggesting that everything between them is perfectly fine).

I love you @jenniferaniston,” she captioned a picture of them posing together on the set of The Morning Show.
