After rescuing Lucanis from his prison, you can accept a side quest called A Slow Poison in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This mission requires you to help a Crow scout named Dareth. You must rescue him from a group of Antaam that has killed one and captured another scout. Although you only need to save some people, you will have to take care of a contract. While you won’t encounter any puzzles in this quest, you’ll need to travel to various places in Treviso, which may get confusing.
How To Complete A Slow Poison Quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard
After speaking with Viago and Teia, you will officially start A Slow Poison quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. You need to exit the Cantori Diamond and ride the zipline. Then, you need to jump down to the lower floors and then turn right to enter Grande Market. Head south, and you will enter the Drowned District.
You need to go to the southwestern area where you can confront a group of Antaam that has killed the Crow scout. One is a warrior with a shield, and the other two have guns. I suggest taking care of the gunners first since they can attack you from afar.
How To Find Dareth’s Contract
After speaking with Jacobus, you can examine Dareth’s corpse to obtain a letter in A Slow Poison quest. Jacobus will ask you to complete his cousin’s mission and you need to track down the dead scout’s contract. Luckily, someone has left marks that you can follow to lead you to your target.
- Exit the building and climb up the ladder.
- Head north to exit the Drowned District.
- Pass through the Grande Markets.
- At Heart and Centrals, pass the bridge.
- Head east and pass through the small alley.
- Unlock the fast travel point and climb up the vines.
- Climb up the ladder and enter the building.
You need to investigate the area to learn more about Dareth’s contract. On the table, you can read the Contract for a Crow letter. The text reveals that your target is the Butcher of Treviso, who has been manufacturing qamek. Luckily, your target is nearby, and you can keep moving.
Pass through another broken window to walk on the rooftops. You then need to ride several ziplines to reach the garrison. If you enter the door to your left, you can face the boss in A Slow Poison quest. However, you can also pass through the broken window to challenge an elven gods’ champion who will open the path to the Betrayal of Felassan boss.
If you open the door, you need to beat a group of Antaam before you can use the zipline. It will take you to another room where several more enemies are stationed. Walk on the narrow beam and pass through another broken window to your left. You can enter the building again via another broken window. After beating another group of Antaam, you can finally face the boss.
How To Beat Qamekmaster in A Slow Poison Quest
Qamekmaster is a Level 14 enemy who loves to get up close and personal with you in A Slow Poison quest. This boss is slightly more challenging if you’re playing as a mage who likes to keep their distance. It’s best to use melee attacks and continue dodging the monster’s attack. The boss has several unblockable moves, so it’s best to evade instead of blocking.
Qamekmaster will mainly hit you with its massive arms, but it will sometimes lunge toward you with a leap attack. Besides that, it can also unleash an AoE blood attack that you need to dodge by backing away.
After beating the boss, you can open a treasure chest in the storeroom. Then, you need to destroy the poison pots before reporting the mission to the Crows. I suggest using a ranged attack since the pots will throw poison at your face if you’re too close. Talk to Teia and Viago to complete A Slow Poison quest and obtain 750 EXP.
