Yellowstone Spin-Off About Beth and Rip Teased by Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly: ‘We’ve Put Our Heart and Soul Into This Show’

As the hit western series Yellowstone nears its grand series finale, some of the actors have hinted at a possible new spinoff. Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly who play Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton in the series will allegedly star in a new spinoff show. These two fan-favorite characters will seemingly usher in a new era for the Yellowstone franchise after the drama surrounding Kevin Costner. If they are open to reprising their iconic roles, that is.

According to Collider, Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly recently sat down to talk about Yellowstone’s final season. It seems as though the possibility of a Rip and Beth led spinoff show has certainly gained some traction lately. Since the show had just wrapped filming in September, Cole stated that it is still “fresh in their minds.” The two would also continue by saying that, “We’ve put our heart and soul into this show.” It seems as though that the two actors would be down to return to the franchise for a possible spinoff series.

Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser Open Up About Possibly Starring in a Yellowstone Spinoff Show

“We just finished it about a month and a half ago, and here we are in New York. So, I’m excited about seeing what the audience thinks of what Taylor’s put together. There are some magical scenes, not just between us, but with all the characters, and everybody kind of has a moment to go through their final journey on the show. So, that’s what I’m focused on and what I care about, and then down the road, if there’s something that happens, surely I would welcome it.”

Yellowstone has had a great run. However, it has also had its ups and downs. Most of the downs can be traced back to Kevin Costner. Kevin was the biggest star on set for years. The actor was also the real selling point for the series. However, in recent months leading up to the final season, Costner started causing issues. Whether it was about money or creative control doesn’t seem to matter anymore as he is no longer a part of the cast.

Taylor Sheridan, who wrote Yellowstone, had a falling out with Kevin Costner. It has also been said that most people on set including Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly had the same falling out with the Hollywood star. Kevin reportedly also had some issues showing up on set to film. This was due to him making his own film in Horizon: An American Saga. Although that film tanked as it was picked apart by critics.

Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, while seemingly down to continue their character’s story, have not gotten any official word. They have both stated that if Taylor Sheridan wrote a continuation, they would happily hop on board. However, they also spoke about if it doesn’t happen. They called the final season of Yellowstone a “beautiful ending.” Will there be yet another spinoff of the hit western? Only time will tell. As for now, fans have to wait.
