The famous couple who rooted for Kamala Harris reportedly began shopping for a new home before the presidential election. However, sources claimed Donald Trump‘s victory was the final push they needed to move. Ellen and Portia have reportedly settled in a new home in the Cotswolds. Their residence is in a region in South West England, about two hours from London.
Their move comes weeks after Trump’s win, with a source noting the pair were “very disillusioned” by the outcome. Another claimed the president-elect’s victory made them immediately decide “to get the hell out.” Ellen and Portia’s alleged reaction wasn’t far-fetched, given their support for Harris. When Joe Biden exited the presidential race, the former TV host was among the first to endorse his replacement. At the time, Ellen dropped a post in Harris’s honor, writing:
“There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come!! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.”
Additionally, she donated $3,300 to the VP’s campaign, but her loss seemed too much for Ellen to handle. While Ellen and Portia weren’t the first celebrities to threaten to relocate if Trump won, they meant business. Sources told TMZ the couple planned to offload their Montecito home but had not decided its selling price.
The possible sale comes months after they sold their California estate for $96 million. We shared in August that the sale came amid speculations of Ellen and Portia’s rocky marriage. An insider claimed the TV host’s retirement from her eponymous talk show negatively impacted their relationship. In their words:

Earlier this month, a source spotted Ferrera in Barnes, a district in South West London where other celebrities live. We shared that she might relocate to the area as she was seen school shopping for her two children. The Ugly Betty star shares son Sebastian Piers and daughter Lucia Marisol with her husband, Ryan Piers Williams. While Ferrera was searching for the perfect school for her kids, the source noted:
“She was seen there at the open day and appeared very happy with what she saw. It’s a school with a lot of celebrity children at it, so her kids would fit in very well.”
The insider explained that Ferrera wouldn’t have to worry about her children fitting into the school. The institution reportedly treated its students equally, meaning no special treatment for celebrity kids. Unlike other A-listers who threatened to leave if Trump won, the actress had deeper ties to London.
