Infinity Nikki Suffers Its First Hack at the Hands of the Gacha Community

Seriously, again?

As with any release of a new gacha, the debate begins about whether it will be the “definitive Genshin Killer.” This same event happened with games like Wuthering Waves, against Honkai Star Rail, and even Zenless Zone Zero. Usually, the debates don’t go beyond forums or social media discussions. However, Infinity Nikki is only on its first day after its release, and its official webpage was hacked. The worst part is that the person responsible for this cyberattack seems to be a fan of Genshin Impact. Or that is what they want to make us believe.

Has it been hacked?

Just a couple of hours ago, Infinity Nikki had its global release; in some countries, it arrived on December 4th at night, and many started playing it instantly. However, other countries received it today in the early morning, and these were mainly affected. Many users reported that when they went to the Infinity Nikki webpage to download the game, it was hacked. Instead of showing the images, news, and download links, a horrible message appears for those who want to play with Nikki again. Also, in this “message,” the hacker mentions a Genshin Impact private server.

Among the comments in this post on Reddit, several Genshin players also want to try Infinity Nikki. In addition, these same fans condemn the hacker’s action, and others believe it is someone trying to give a bad image to HoYoverse. It is not new that “trolls” try to tarnish the acceptance of Genshin Impact or HoYoverse.

Ultimately, it is sad to see that a new and cozy gacha game is under fire from up-to-no-good people. So far, the gacha community has been enthralled with everything Infinity Nikki has to offer. Plus, it is always great to have competition in the market because it inspires companies to improve their games by watching new ones arrive.
