Social media users continue to rally against Jay-Z in his ongoing sexual assault drama. Critics recently called out the billionaire record producer for using underhanded schemes to escape the rape allegations. Over the weekend, an anonymous woman accused Jay-Z and his longtime pal Diddy of assaulting her at 13.
The alleged victim claimed the incident happened at a party after the 2000 MTV VMAs. However, Jay-Z’s legal rep, Alex Spiro, filed new documents that claimed his accuser’s lawyer had orchestrated her story. He accused Tony Buzbee of pressuring clients to make false allegations in lawsuits, backing his claims with a witness.
In a declaration filed on Tuesday morning, one of Spiro’s associates recounted a concerning exchange with an anonymous woman. The individual claimed they had contacted Buzbee’s firm, seeking representation over sex trafficking and abuse allegations. Although their case had nothing to do with Diddy, the rep kept asking when they met the entertainer.
The weird situation continued with Buzbee’s firm pressing the woman to file her lawsuit anonymously. She claimed they advised her to skip filing a criminal complaint and twisted her narrative into a gruesome story. The declaration noted the woman “felt directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee’s firm” on what to say and do.
The woman added that “she felt forced to lie” and ultimately refused to cooperate. However, when she did not play by their rules, Buzbee’s firm dropped her as a client. Jay-Z’s attorney claimed the woman contacted his firm to reveal the opposing party’s schemes. But Buzbee slammed the accusations, per TMZ, stressing:
“This is so ridiculous. If someone calls our intake and has a viable case that we believe has merit and we can pursue, we will pursue it…What we won’t do is pursue a case that we don’t believe has merit.”
Critics Believe Jay-Z Fabricated the Claims Against the Opposing Lawyer
The claims from Jay-Z’s corner received scornful reactions from social media users on X, who suspected they were lies. These critics accused the billionaire of paying off the woman to discredit Buzbee and escape the rape allegations. Someone noted that this tactic wasn’t new, writing:
“ROC NATION BACK AGAIN WITH DIRTY TACTICS ONLY BC THEY KNOW ITS GONNA BE OVERRRRRRR.”
Another echoed similar sentiments, writing, “Same old tactics; discrediting the messenger and not the message.” A third agreed, claiming the Roc Nation founder had a history of playing dirty to “shut people up.” The conspiracy theories continued, with an X user reflecting on Jay-Z’s recent move to reveal his accuser’s identity.
They argued that he did so to start paying off witnesses and turn the tables. However, not everyone saw the woman’s claims as Jay-Z’s ploy, with an individual stressing that Buzbee was no angel. Authorities arrested him in March 2016 for driving while intoxicated, but the case was dismissed a year later. In November 2024, a former client slammed Buzbee in an assault lawsuit. The anonymous woman claimed he attacked her while representing her in a divorce case. Meanwhile, a source alleged Buzbee flew into a “fit of rage” and assaulted the woman in public.
