In an interview with Epic Games, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director Naoki Hamaguchi asked PC players not to make any lewd mods for the game. The game was initially only available on PlayStation 5, but after the timed exclusive passed, the popular remake finally arrived on PC. While most fans may just be interested in experiencing this game, some players will definitely want to dabble in adding mods.

Considering internet tendencies, Hamaguchi’s wariness toward inappropriate mods is not unfounded. The man said that his team had no plans for adding official in-game mod support to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but they still respected the modding community’s creativity and welcomed their creations. However, he asked that modders refrain from creating or installing offensive or inappropriate mods.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director’s request likely came after witnessing various thirsty mods that fans made with the PC release of Final Fantasy 16. Visiting Nexus Mods will give you a long list of players’ mods for the game. While most are reasonable mods, you can find some questionable ones. For instance, there’s a mod that makes Clive constantly tell players that he loves them every three minutes. You can also find another mod that forces the protagonist to walk in public in his underwear.

While Hamaguchi’s request is reasonable, it’s quite unlikely that all fans will follow it. After all, there is the infamous Rule 34, where you are guaranteed to find porn on every topic on the internet. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will likely get lewd mods, considering some fans’ obsession with its characters. In fact, you can already find some inappropriate mods for Final Fantasy 7 Remake, like Shirtless Reno and Tifa OG Underwear.

Fans who’ve heard of this request also sincerely doubt that all PC players will honor his wish. Some even noted that this request may trigger more modders to make questionable mods. A handful of fans even bet there will be a day-one nude mod.
