Koei Tecmo has revealed that Rise of the Ronin, the Team Ninja-developed open-world action RPG, will be released on PC via Steam on March 11, 2025, and pre-orders are already live for $49.99 if you can’t wait to jump into 1853 Japan. This is the first time that the game is leaving PlayStation exclusivity, and hopefully, it will make its way onto Team Green as well.
The Steam version of Rise of the Ronin will come with its own bells and whistles that will make it the best way to play it with some PC-specific features:
- 8K resolution support
- DirectX 12 Ultimate support
- Ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitor compatibility
- 120fps support
- Ray tracing support
- 3D audio support
- Customizable keyboard and mouse controls
- AMD Fidelity FX Super Resolution support
- NVIDIA DLSS and Reflex support
- UI menu with mouse clickability
- Intel XeSS graphics technology support
Those who purchase the samurai title before April 2, 2025, will receive some extra content as well. This includes four different combat styles (Jin Sakai style) which are Hayabusa-ryu for katana, Hayabusa-ryu for naginata, Nioh-ryu for katana, and Aisu Kage-ryu for katana. Other than fighting styles, those who pre-order Rise of the Ronin on PC will also get access to the Iga Ninja armor set and Iga Ninja’s katana.
The game came out in March of last year as a PlayStation 5 exclusive and takes place in 19th-century Japan in Yokohama, Edo, and Kyoto. The fighting is a lot like Sekiro or past games from Koei Tecmo, and has a very impressive open-world design, it didn’t stack up extremely well when compared to its contemporaries, especially the games made by FromSoftware.
Team Ninja is now hard at work on Ninja Gaiden 4, after the surprise release of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black last week during an Xbox Direct event. The game is being co-developed by Platinum Games as well and evokes some memories of Metal Gear Rising Revengence.
