With the imminent arrival of Monster Hunter Wilds, many players who enjoyed past releases and those who will join in this new hunt are excited. Thousands of people can no longer wait to go out into the wild and wipe out the threat of the creatures eradicating ecosystems. In addition, the excitement for Wilds has grown enormously with the release of the demos, special editions, and reviews. However, not all is joy because some of the players who fight with monsters are approaching the shutdown of another game of this classification, Dauntless. This is the end of days for all Slayers of Ramsgate.
This unexpected news appeared on the official Dauntless page on Steam and social networks, but the most surprising thing is that it was only accompanied by a very tiny text: “Dauntless is shutting down on May 29, 2025. Dauntless will receive no additional content or updates. The game will no longer be available to play on May 29, 2025.”
In general, many of the players who were in Dauntless quite a few patches ago say that the game had a formula that worked well. However, with the new updates, the game tried to move the original idea to a more open world, and it just didn’t have the same feeling as it did in the beginning. For this reason, Dauntless started receiving many negative reviews and losing quite a few players, ultimately resulting in this shutdown.
Still, many players will miss this game, which gave them so much joy. Sadly, users generally agree with the shutdown of the servers and are excited to receive Monter Hunter Wilds in a few days. Many others are also discussing games like Wild Hearts, Oukiden, God Eater, or Soul Sacrifice, as other titles have a similar monster hunter formula for those who want to try more of this genre.
