Fox commentator Kennedy got her lick back on The View after a failed audition years ago. She launched a verbal attack against the show’s longest-tenured panelist, Joy Behar. Kennedy chose the spiciest words to describe Behar. According to her:
“Joy was a talking hemorrhoid in an auburn wig. She was. So ungracious and awful. And she had a comedy writer writing her little lines during the breaks. And I was like, she’s not even funny. Like she’s not reacting to anything.”
Kennedy appeared on “Gutfeld!” on Monday evening, intimating host Greg Gutfeld on her audition experience. She recalled hitting it off with the co-hosts when she tried out to replace Lisa Ling, who left the show in late 2002. Kennedy disclosed that she auditioned for The View in 2003 and advanced significantly in the selection process.
She had a positive experience, especially enjoying her interactions with Starr and fondly recalling Barbara Walters. At that time, Meredith Vieira was also part of the show, and they discussed conservative politics. Unfortunately for her, Mediaite reports that the role was given to Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
The View Co-Host Joy Behar Talks Befriending a Donald Trump Supporter
On The View last week, Behar shared her thoughts on being friends with Trump supporters. The bomb dropped during a discussion of HBO’s The White Lotus, where a character reveals her Trump vote. Per Mediaite, Behar stated she could be friends with a Trump supporter, but only to a certain extent. The show host admitted that she would not give them a kidney but could totally be friends with them.

She emphasized that her concerns were rooted in morality and ethics. All of which makes it “hard” to connect deeply with someone who supports Trump. She emphasized her appreciation for open discussions that allow her to understand different perspectives. Her co-host, Alyssa Farah Griffin, pointed out that her close circle of friends hold a variety of political opinions. Sara Haines also mentioned being raised around conservative perspectives and rich political diversity.
The View Insists on Zero Pro-Trump Panel Lineup
Earlier rumors suggested that The View producers are reportedly making “major changes” due to pressure from higher-ups. We reported that one of the new plans was bringing in new panelists with a pro-Trump perspective. ABC is seemingly worried that their liberal views may alienate Trump supporters, as the show lacks diverse opinions. Contrary to these sources, the show is reportedly not interested in recruiting pro-Trump hosts. Although that dynamic may introduce a new audience, an insider advised not to anticipate it.
ABC is reportedly trying to win back the Trump demographic, but it will not affect the daytime talk show. Some Republican panelists, like Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman, have historically criticized Trump despite their conservative backgrounds. This sentiment appears to persist among them in the current political climate. However, a notable change in the upcoming 2025 discussions is the anticipated invitation of Trump officials to participate.
Will Kennedy ever let her grudge against The View’s Joy Behar go?
